Unfortunately there isn't a place where there is no alcohol, and no temptation.
The change has to come from you, from within, to manage this illness of alcoholism. Changing your circumstances doesn't work. You cannot run away from your own head and your own thinking (for it is thinking that makes you pour a drink down your throat, no-one is doing it for you).

    so so true....

It cannot be avoided for ever....I went into a pub last week and was fine and will go on a night out next week and drive...I know it will be a heavy session...but not for me....there is no one strong enough to make me drink and my defences are sound...but I still need to be watchful.

I have the ability to be my own worst enemy
but also my own best friend.

take care everyone...good things aren't always easy!
For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 2007

    HI chaps

    Hoping everyone is well.

Been down town and splashed out on an abba cd - no payment to my loan today - instead of a bottle of wine I am about to be abba'd.

Wonder if I will get the sore head with it too?

Fay, your garden is huge!:) My garden is tiny. I step out my back door and I almost hit my face on the back fence (slight exaggeration maybe.)

My DH is coming home soon with some fizzy pop, choccie and some sweeties. I might as well say that I am taking my weight loss challenge off for May and I'm taking it off my signature too! I can't focus on stopping drinking and losing weight at the same time right now.

I'm feeling alright tonight but more tearful than usual. I watched Susan Boyle singing on Youtube finally as I kept hearing people talking about her (I'm very behind the times!) I was sobbing away watching it, oh dearie me.:o

    I hope everyone is okay.:A
