Morning....DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

most odd, no wine glass to wash up with the breakfast things....
welcome to sandc! good luck!
getting bad vibes about today...woke up feeling positive then had a row with DD & lost my temper out of all proportion to the "crime" (it's a cumulative thing...we've all been there getting kids to get themselves ready for school, every day there's SOMETHING missed....today had a straw camels back moment & lost it)..she's gone into school upset, I drove to work angry then walked into the office & burst into tears  - TOTALLY out of character, I'm the "don't bring your personal problems into work" bossy boss usually. I told her to get the school bus home & miss her after-school club ("you can't be bothered to get ready properly, I can't be bothered to come & pick you up" - *winces*) but I think I'll call the school, confess, & say to let her stay if she wants. I hope she hasn't told teacher what I said to her:o:o:o:o
AND, had my hair coloured last night supposed to be "chestnut medium brown" but it's come out virtually black so now I look like one of those sad old women who can't let go of their youth esp since my crying bout removed most of my make-up!
AND I've got three bottles of wine sat here which someone bought for me 3 for £10 they're usually £8 a bottle so won't be any good then....no temptation then.........
Sorry to whinge! Think I'll swallow a dozen kudzu with lunch.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Winebox
Poor You !! I completely lost it with my 3 yesterday when I was driving them to school . I was so scary I frightened myself . To make matters worse they all burst out laughing ! It just doesn't set you in the right frame of mind for the rest of the day.
As for the hair - try washing it with anti-dandruff shampoo as thats supposed to remove some of the colour . Can't say I've tried it myself but might be worth a go . On the other hand it might not be as bad as you think - perhaps just takes a little getting used to . If anyone asks just say you have gone a shade braver :rotfl:
Hope your day improves and that you make up with DD later

That tea is vile!
Sorry to hear about your morning Winebox.
 to any new people.
What I was going to post last night was that I am finding this challenge quite difficult and I think I am going to give up the cutting down on drinking. I am finding that I am just in a binge/ abstain cycle which I know can't be good for my health physically and mentally.
So I think I am going to give being totally alcohol free a try again. I have done it before for months at a time and I don't think I found it as hard as trying to cut back once I had made the decision.
This is what I am going to attempt anyway! I have to be realistic and say I know I will drink alcohol again at some point but I think having a break from the cycle will be good for me. Of course my mind is now warning me about the evenings out that will less fun without alcohol etc... but I'm ignoring it.
Anyway, hope you are all okay. Thanks Budgie for keeping track.:A This will be my 5th day AF.HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

Hi 115K
You have just put into words exactly what I am feeling. I have a really bad hangover today - I think I drank more than I normally would on my 1 out of 2 alcohol allowed days per week last night, for some bizarre reason. I've ordered 'Living Sober' now. I've never given up before, so I really don't know how I'm going to do at all.Total AFD's May-December 2009: 178 ie 73% of total days (245 days)

cheeky mare! pot....kettle....black (oh no! that colour again!)
40sm thanks for the tip.
Rang the school & said she can stay after if she wants so feel a bit less guilty, but still feel ever so tearful. Must be TOTM (yes, MP, even at my age, the problem being I forget when it is :rotfl:)
115K - coo, good luck with that one! I know what you mean with the binge / abstain cycle. I would find it impossible to decide to give up completely though so admire your decision hugely. When I was constantly trying to give up smoking I found that if I gave up trying to stop & resigned myself to being a lifelong smoker I smoked a lot less as I was more relaxed about it & not under "threat" of "having" to stop (it was mychoice, my choice....). I sometimes wonder if that would work for the drinking as well....but different drug, I know really that it won't. It would be good to take the regular (daily) binge out of the equation though. This is heresy on here no doubt but the occasional one is great imo!
I'm trying to stand in for Budgie today with extra-long posts
Hope you're OK Jo x0 -
Welcome to the Wagon 115K and Priceisright.
Hang on tight ...it maybe a bumpy wide but hopefully you will get there in the end.
Good Luck
