Hya girls
i spent the day gardening too. Put seedlings in yesterday...then it hailstoned!
Most seem to have recovered today though. Nature is a wonderful thing
I am af the full 9 days of May so far.
Love to you all x0 -
Hi all- everyone seems really positve today. Lurkers, if you are not, post anyway. AFG sounds good to me, my garden is so boring, just lawn and no real plants, spotted a pair of 3 inch high wedged wellies with a zip up the side in fowey today with a sky pattern on them, might go back tommorrow and get them and start digging.
Got completely fleeced by 15 yr old son today, he wants to go to Sonispere festival for his birthday, so I said I would take him and a friend as long as they agreed to stay with me in the family camping area (plus I was going on my own anyway because I love metallica and nine inch nails- but I hadn't told him that!!!!) and behave re: drink etc, so booked the tickets, then I found out he had asked his grandad for a download festival ticket for his birthday, and as my sisters going he can camp with her and hes going their too!!! How crafty is that!!?? Mine you I was secretly chuffed that noone batted an eyelid when I said I was taking them- it means people trust me at things like this not to get blasted like I used too, and my sons dad and his freinds parents think I will look after them properly on my own- that really meant a lot to me, I always knew people would be wary, quite rightly, and I would have to pay a long time for things I've done, and to gain peoples trust again.
Had a giggle at the scottish banter- fay are you and me the furthest apart geographically on this thread?
Hope everyone is OK today- big night in for me, fab.0 -
Eselt hiya sweetheart, I am so pleased to read your post and how wonderful that you now have the trust of everyone, that is really fantastic. It seems though that you hold in your heart still alot of sadness for the past that is gone.
You cannot change the past but hey what a future you have to look forward to. You have worked so very hard to get here though I feel that you will always hold a little sadness in your heart.
But enjoy being you now and know that people do trust and love you, as we all do on here
On a less heavier note Brawn got the pole :T and what about the dream? (Its on my previous post) lots of love and Budgie hugs xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi E
Well done on the festivals - enjoy them and great you can take DS and chum toothat must feel good.
Geographically - me and you - probably (especially when i am exiled to Shetland sometimes with work.Dunno if we have any deep southerners (ie Europe) or more northerly folks?/
Mild bell clanging tonight - bit stressed about work - so I guess I had better do some eh?? Back to the report :0
Waves to all x
EDIT to garden Jo - its not that bad woman!!!!!! Looks far worse than it actually is.
Phase 1 I'd get out there with the chopping implements and chop away like crazy and make a huge chopping pile (you prob done this already) - pick up the plastic and get rid - all you seem to be doing with that to be honest is keeping your lovely weeds really cosy. It does work for many weeds really sucessfully- but not for really vigourous perennials and not brambles really they are the rocky's of the plant world.
If the bramles look like you can't pull them up after a good go - - they are fatherless (!!) plants - then I would cut them all back and pile up the stuff in a corner and then (shut your ears any very organic people - I am normally the most natural gardener I know!!) I would wait until you have cut the bramles back after about a week or so and there will be a huge new flush (growth) of leaves - after that I would apply a strong dose of 'Round-up' - environmentally its the most inert herbicide there is once it hits the soil its inert - it should kill the roots etc of the brambles and you 'shouldn't' get too much hassle from them again. Dogs kids etc all safe after application once its dry (1hr or two?) - its pretty harmless after application (unless your children have cholorphyll in their blood).
I wish I lived nearer -its so frustrating not to be able to help.
Question - can you borrow a shredder? It would make mince meat of those nasty brambles and you'd be able to reuse the stuff as a path mulch
Once the bramles are gone you can really get some lovely things in.
Sorry I know this isnt the thread - but I wanted to go on again.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Hope all is well with everyone including those who are reading, but have yet to post
eselt it is wonderful that you are regaining the trust of family members. I admire your understanding and am delighted this is happening faster than you had imagined it would. A life without alcohol can be beyond our wildest imaginings.
There is sadness for the past, but I hope that you can have compassion for yourself - as you have for others. Not one of us planned to become addicted to alcohol, not one of us wanted to upset our children or other family members... it wasn't a deliberate thought process - it was a reaction to our allergy to alcohol. I think if we can treat ourselves with compassion, then we can work hard to become the best people we can be :T
This thread is fantastic at helping me keep af one day at a time. For that I am grateful. Bless you - and bless me!0 -
Oh, now I'm in tears (in a nice way). you people are so lovely-you really really are. Don't know what else to say really- you keep me sane and I thank all of you, from the bottom of my heart. for it.0

Hi, everyone. I have looked a this group for a while, & decided to finally do something about my drinking!
I have tried:
a) AA - couldn't cope with the group thing
b) Acupuncture - didn't work (ended up with sore ears, don't ask!)
c) Counselling - Ok for a while
I am now taking Kudzo, having Milk Thistle etc,. I am trying to cut down rather than stop completely.
I cannot remember when I did not last have a drink ( I mean years), I had a drink on Bank Holiday Monday & I have had 4 AF days since. In all my time with the above I have never managed this!
However, I do have a problem in the fact I find it hard to get to sleep, ( I have been a heavy drinker for 30 years or more), I am trying Nytol, Any advice please?
Also I have the night sweat, again any advice?
