69chick - its nearly 9 o'clock - how about putting the kettle on and making yourself a hot treat. After you've consumed that you can think again about whether you still want the alcohol. Snuggle down on the sofa and I'm sure you'll find you don't really want to waste an AF day so late in the evening? Good luck and enjoy the film - time to relax now, time just for you, you'll be so pleased in the morning that you refrained.

Budgie - its so lovely to have you back! I'm really sorry to hear about your awful experience on your holiday. I know the solictor thing can seem very serious but it may only take a solicitors letter to the hotel to make them compensate you properly. Like you say, you don't want to ruin anyone. But they DO have a responsibilty to make recompense. Lots of ((hugs)). And thank-you for your support. I know what needs to be done and I know I can count on all the lovely people on here to help.

69Chick - Avanother is spot on....make yourself a hot drink. Get out the chocklit and enjoy! :D I know from experience that days when little ones are poorly seem VERY long and stressful!

I've had a lovely evening. OH had a splitting headache (too long in the sun and not enough hair to protect his head from the sun:rotfl:) so I decided to let him have some peace and quiet. The heat had made Piglet have a late afternoon nap so he was very lively after tea. So I packed him into the car and went off down to my Mum and Dads. Cue a couple of hours of football in the back garden, cups of tea and lots of chatting. It was fab. I was talking to my Mum about the drinking and told her I've got to give it up. She was very happy about it (shes quite anti-drinking) so I know she'll support me all the way. She did ask me how the diet was going this week...............I sort of changed the subject at that point!:rotfl:

Hope everyone is having a nice evening - bet Jo is having a fabulous time watching Madonna!

    Miss P
    xx

  • Hi everybody

Budgie - great to have you back!!! Thanks for your lovely post as usual. Don't worry about all this - I think the idea of talking to the hotel is a good one, too, perhaps you can get your full reimbursement without bringing the nasty solicitors in? And your DS doesn't want you getting stressed with it all either ...

69Chick - great film, isn't it? I've just watched Breakfast At Tiffany's with DD2 - really did me good to sit there with her for a few hours.

Jo - hope Madonna is brilliant. Your friend must really value you to be so generous to you - enjoy it. You certainly deserve it.

I had my allowed drinking evening last night. But unfortunately went overboard. :o Went for a couple of spritzers with Mr PIR, and then for a lovely meal with wine. And then of course we had to go and have just one more drink before rolling home. DD2 and DD3 aware that mother drunk again. Perhaps it affected me more because I have really cut down drastically? But at the time we really enjoyed ourselves, just being out and away from the house, where there is often so much stress, and we haven't been out for ages. I know what you are going to say, Graeme. I've been very proud of myself over the past couple of weeks, even on my alcohol allowed days I haven't had much, but I don't know how I could have avoided it last night, Mr PIR had his drinking hat on, and I'm as bad. I've felt hung over all day, and my thinking hasn't been as clear as it has been over the past few weeks, and I've felt more paranoid

Back firmly on the wagon again now. I'll make sure it doesn't happen again next Sat.

Better go and prepare the lunches for tomorrow. DD2 doing work experience at a local hairdressers' this week, so that's going to be a bit different for her. DD1 is becoming slightly more sensible now, but DD3 is slipping into her teenager-from-hell place quite quickly.

    Night night xx

Thanks guys and hugs ((())) btw Miss P loving the new avvie :T

Just thought I'd send our Darling Jo a big hug ((())) I have just read on Sky News that tonights concert is dedicated to: Michael Jackson.

Apparently they have show a huge picture of MJ when he was a child and played extracts from a couple of his songs then someone has moon walked on the stage.

I bet our Darling Jo is in floods by now. Hugs sweetheart and all of our love. Though we are not there we can feel the emotion of it all.

Whatever has happened over the years, he was such a beautifull little boy and how sad it has all ended as it has.

Though all the allegations really did put me off him in a very big way. But I look at the adorable little boy who sang: Rockin Robin and think how sad his life became ..............

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4VCUbL7jsc

I remember reading somewhere that as a child he only wanted to go out and play over in the park, but instead he was forced to rehearse in the recording studios over the road, and he watched the children playng from a distance .................

Hugs Jo and I hope tonight has been awesome for you Angel? Big, Big hugs and lots of Budgie T love ;) xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Thanks Budgie!

I am feeling better now. I have had a week to keep mega busy and stop focussing on my mind as much. Back to work tomorrow and then next session is in a week's time to no doubt mess my mind up again into pieces. Found keeping myself busy all day doing jobs that distract the mind worked very well and not focussing on other's people problems when my mind did not have enough room for this.

Keeping very busy meant I wasn't sat on this thread as much all day as before. Have focussed on decluttering and flying which has worked an absolute treat and will be keeping myself mega busy next week to to carry it all on and see the benefits it brings and makes me feel happier.

When I drank a bottle of wine over 2 nights guess how it made me feel - rubbish as usual. Even 2 glasses of wine makes me feel rubbish the next day.

Hope you feel better soon Budgie my dear as you sound less bright than before. You take care x

    AFD 3 now

Good news is I have an interview in just a week or so for a new job finger's crossed for this and hope for a new employer

Good luck with the interview sweetheart, I am sure that a new position would help you greatly. I do understand what you mean about keeping busy and not being on the thread so much.

I have found that my meditation class has helped me, though due to circumstances I have not been for 2 wks. I hope to get back on track soon.

I hope that whatever the next sessions that you have will help you and that you are able to stay positive and move forward?

Sometimes in life we feel worse umtil we move forward and get better?

Yes my light is dimmed a little but not totally out ;) I am a flickering ember along the way ;)

Big hugs sweetheart, you certainly have alot to deal with at the moment, but clearing the way is a very positive step, get rid of the old and make way for the new.

Big hugs and lots of love

Hi all, well I managed to avoid drinking tonight :j although I did eat the minstrels followed by some peanuts and diet coke and I now feel a bit sick :o but really pleased to say 3/20 af now.

Jo, hope you had a fab time tonight and what a great friend you have there who obviously thinks the world of you

FUAS you sound really positive and keeping busy is definitely the key for me around wine o clock :p all the best for your interview x

PIR try not to beat yourself up about last, sounds like you and Mr PIR had a great night out and enjoyed yourselves, at least you know you can jump back on the wagon with ease and I did enjoy ghost town (had a little cry too! just like I always do when I watch ghost whisperer :o)

Miss Piggy - You too sound really positive and it sounds like you have had a fab weekend, I love it when I find pleasure in things non alcohol related - anyway you know we are all here for you hun xx

Right off to bed now, little one is still coughing in her sleep so it might be a long night
