  • Morning everybody

Thanks to BB from me too - you really are doing a brilliant job. :T:T:T

Jo - you do not know how much I understand the stress you went through last night. I'll guess your daughter is 14-15? My eldest (now 17.5 - only 6 months till 18 and adult - hurrayyyyy) has caused me unbelievable stress since the age of 14, and I too have just got drunk many times to put it all out of my mind. But it doesn't help - like you said, you can't talk to them sensibly when they eventually do come home - but how were you to know that they were going to be in a communicative mood? Then you end up with horrendous hangover the next day, suffering.

My other two teenage DDs are not quite as bad, but still have their moments, but rarely drive me to drink. Also, I'm finding that as they have the ability to plan in advance, they let me know when they will be needing a lift home, so it is actually a great incentive to keep AF.

Mr PIR is getting better at coping, which is a great help - but for years he just used to blame me for DD1s behaviour - even more reason for me to blot it all out.

I too feel like the 'glue' in this house - it's up to me to make sure everything doesn't fall apart. Even more reason for the occasional treat - but I never seem to have time to do anything for myself! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Have a good day everybody. Hope you like your hair 40SM

Apologies in advance for the depressing post...

Feel off the wagon in a spectacular style last night, to cut a long story short, I'm still ill, Doc gave me another load of antibiotics yesterday as the last lot didn't work and an inhaler to take cos I can't breathe, I haven't got asthma, he said he thinks it might be broncitius. Then got home and OH & DD1 were arguing, OH is frustrated cos DD1 makes up stupid stories so that she can see more of her boyfriend (she pretended she didn't have her key so couldn't get in and had to wait for one of us to get in, but then we discovered that she had put the post up on the side which came after she had left for school, so we know she had been in at some point!) even though she's grounded (she stayed out till 4.30am last week!!) and so she snuck out of the house and I couldn't find her and she wouldn't answer her phone. Eventually tracked her down at boyfriends house but she refused to come come and then OH and her started phone/text arguing. I just had enough and got drunk.

Problem was she finally decided she would come home and talk about it past midnight last night, by this time I'm obviously over the limit so refused to go pick her up saying that I was in my pajamas and not getting dressed. They obviously didn't know I'd been drinking so I looked like a complete nutter refusing to go cos of my PJ's! It cost ME £20 to get her a cab home, which is out of my rent money which I can't pay back.

Got to get the prescription for the medicine today but haven't got £14.40 to get it :(

Oh, and I have the hangover from hell (no sympathy, self-inflicted), my excema has flared up and my insides hurt. I have no paracetamol in the house, just took some Berocca so hopefully that might give me a boost?

    Pah....sorry all :(

    Hugs Jo
What a night. Hope you feel better later - tbh if my daughter had caused that much of a scene throughout the evening I wouldn't have gone and got her and would have made her get a cab. Infact I would have PUT my pj's on and absolutely refused to go for her. Maybe you should take the 20 for the cab from her pocket money - or get her to pay it back to you - you shouldn't beat yourself up too much.

So don't beat yourself up too much. Kids are very frustrating - a chum threw an onion at hers last night......(which is hardly the same I know and the onion wasn't damaged :D xxx girls eh - mine is going to stay 12 forever I am going to lock her in her room)

You've been doing so well, so its only aslight mishap on the alcohol front (but its easy done) - hope you feel better today hugs xxxx

Hands Jo a cup coffee (strong) 2 paraceatamol and some vit C to give her a boost.
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

    Morning all,
    big hug to Jo.
I also fell off the wagon last night, i don't think the half emptied box of wine is helping at all. I've only managed 1AFD so far this month. I'm going away with work today so i'm really nervous about that, and we're going out in the evenings socialising. I just don't want to make a prat of myself, so my plan is not to get into buying rounds and if anyone asks i'll say i''m a bit broke.
    Better get organised.

Oh dear Jo you must feel like hell with a hangover AND bronchitis, hope you find some pills soon. If you don't mind me asking, I know you claim tax credits (sorry to mention them!) don't you get a NHS exemption certificate? It might be cos there's only my income I spose but I get free scripts.....just a thought, £15 is a lot of punishment for being poorly.

Hi to all & well dones for last night. I crashed & burned along with Jo but without the excuse. This month is turning to sh!te already & am out for the next 4 nights; I'm not supposed to have a social life. Am going with DD to see Hannah Montana (who? what?) which is certain to drive me to it.

Hi all- huge (hugs) Jo, what a night?!! Hope you feel better soon and get your prescription sorted asap- don't let yourself get too run down.

Someone mentioned finding some cheap berroca, my local sainsburys does an own brand fizzy vit B with exactly the same ingredients as berrocca for £1.94- seems to have the same effect for me.

Good luck today everyone, and thanks for keeping us all going BB, much appreciated.

Quick post to say sorry you are having a naff time Jo. Hope it all settles down soon.

Looking back at when I was a teenager (long time ago, I know .... before you say it ) we all got up to some odd stuff and were a bit self centred. Guess its all part of the growing up process. But it is a process and they do go through it.
As long as she is safe - that's the main thing ;)

    Hope you feel better soon

    Morning everyone?

I'm feeling quite tired and snappy today. Hugs to all those not feeling so great.

I have to ask what is berocca and is it any good? What does it do? I've seen an advert with people dancing around? lol
