  • Thanks again to everybody for your support last night. Things have settled down again into the normal routine today. putting the nasty episode behind me  - well I wouldn't have done before I had the children, but determined there will be no great upheavals in their lives, especially at this stage. But I DID NOT LET IT DRIVE ME TO DRINK!!!!! :T:T

So pleased to hear about Sea's experience last night, and well done you for going to your friend's and having a cup of tea and a chat. :T:T I hope it all goes well tonight too.

    Hi everyone

Still very poorly. DS2 also ill last night. Only DS1 not been ill out of the 5 of us this week .... yet.

BB - please update my days to 18 please . There is no way I could have drank any wine this last few days - I am struggling with water _pale__pale_.

Hopefully I will have lost a few pounds with the lack of food and drink:T

Please keep sending in your days as I am updating my list as and when I can.

Hope you all have a lovely sunny weekend.

    Hi all
Thank you all for the thoughts for the meeting last night. Well done to all those with good AF das this month and hugs to those who are struggling. I was terrified at the meeting - shaking and everything - but it was good- I found it interesting to hear all the different stories - they were so friendly and welcoming. They said to just go to a few and see if it was for me - I didn't have to go again etc etc. I admit I was desperate for a drink when I left - like cravings really bad, but my friend had made me promise I'd go round her's after the meeting so I did and we had tea and that, and chatted with my other friend who was there.

I wasn't sure what affect it had had on me but I do feel a kind of hope and almost excitement about things today. The feelings of shame and guilt at what I've done when drinking are very strong though today - guess because I can think a little more clearly nad it's hard not to be tempted to get rid of the thinking with more drink. I'm trying though. I'm going to go to another meeting tonight as a whole weekend without a drink is really really scary at the moment.

Thank you again for all the best wishes and things - it really helps - much more than I can describe.
    Sea xxxxxxxxxxx

My memories of my first time are still pretty fresh.... and good....although it was gut-wrenching....

IT would actually do a lot of people good to go to a meeting, even if they've no obvious issues, just to see the effect that drink has on society.

There is also a camaraderie and sense of purpose that is sadly lacking in some areas today....

One little nugget from one of the veterans :

"I can't believe it took a bunch of drunks to show me the error of my ways"

Well done for going, Sea, I'm sure it will help - even if it's not necessarily in the way that you'd expect...

    take care everyone....

    Bis
For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 2007
