It was good, thanks. I was after a narrow cupboard/chest to go in the bedroom but I didn't find one. I did pick up a few bits of vintage linen which I'm going to cut up and make into other stuff. I've just found out there's another one on next weekend, a much bigger fair a bit further away. Lovely bargain hunting here I come :j

I am sooooooo Chuffed. I bought a pine dresser this morning. It isn't what i wanted to start off with as it is only a two door one ( ideally wanted a 4 door one) but it is a project. needs a sand down . so i thought it is an ideal first project. I saw it locally for sale for £25. i am well happy. It has horrible brass handles. but gonna replace them with some pine one which i already have. and the hinges are brass gonna replace them. i will post a pic later but it is still in my MPV and can't move it on my own.

My first little project. i'm not sure wether to sand it and wax it or sand it and paint it cream and leave the top as natural pine. but i think i will sand it first and just see what the wood it like.

i can't wait to get started.

That sounds like a great first project, mine is to paint my kitchen unit doors, I've got the paint but I can't muster up the enthusiasm because I know I've got to clear the kitchen first. :o

I like pine dressers with the tops left natural and the rest painted but as you say it's best to see what the wood is like first. There are some beautiful pictures on here of dressers that others have revamped, I wish my kitchen was big enough for one.

anguk it was seeing the pic's on here that made me want one, lol. i have always liked them but only in recent years that i decided i was gonna have one.i kinda figured for £25 i can't go wrong. i am lucky enough that my kitchen is a nice size so i can have one. but if i ever need it moved from there i can always move it in to the dining room.

My mil painted all her kitchen doors a few years back. the transformation was amazing.

Wow, cant wait to see it the dresser. £25 is a bargain, mine was not so much of a bargain at £85 but I had been looking for a cheaper one for ages.

I have my eye on some dining chairs, will show you them if I manage to get them, auction ends tomorrow evening.
