Thanks ladies I put a piccie of this on before but this thread is so huge. Shelley hubby painted this but he was very naughty he just rubbed it down and painted it so you are doing a much better job than us. Ours is in the living room though and doesn't really get knocked as such if it was in my kitchen we would have done it properly lol. I think your handles sound lovely the good thing about shabby chic etc is just do whatever you want my living room is a complete mismatch of painted furniture and I love it x0

Come on Vicki we're waiting
I bet if I had the time I would still just spend my life looking at everyone elses makeovers0 -
Morning all! I dragged poor Mr BB out of bed just after 7am for the car booty (although it was more like 8 by the time he'd drunk his coffee and grumbled at me a few times...
). We met my Dad there, and it was so huge we were too exhausted to visit the other one down the road afterwards!
I'm really pleased with my haul, got a few items of clothing brand new with tags for no more than £1.50 a piece plus got some bits to shabby up...
- little wooden birdhouse
- large chalkboard with wooden frame and little tray to keep chalks in
- chunky tall ladder style shelves (I can't decide whether to paint these up or keep them dark for the bathroom, they look fab against the new paint!)
I'll get photos of shabby bits up here later, and clothes will go on my blog too. Off to do some painting :rotfl:0 -
I'm sat here browsing whilst the OH continues to rub down paintwork on the stairs and create more dust. He waited until I'd got rid of the last lot before he started again. I'm thinking I should do something but can't decide whether to paint or sew. I'll probably do neither.:o0

Are you sure we haven't got the same OH? Mine very kindly put my mirrors up in the hallway for me yesterday, but he's also left me several nice piles of orange brick dust all the way up the stairs...

I eventually settled down and made a couple of these crowns for the LOs. Can't take pics because they've taken them to bed. The OH did ask if my cupboard was nearly finished because it still needs varnish on the shelf and outside. I ought to give it another coat of paint inside because it has only had one coat but I can't be bothered at the moment.:o0 -
I know the feeling shirlgirl, I have lots of projects to start/finish but I just cannae be a***d
I painted up my little bird house in pink with CK side and roof, it looks really cute. Going to varnish it tonight so I'll take some photos in the daylight tomorrow (energy saving bulbs are rubbish for pics).
My Mum gave me a pine plate rack and I'm trying to decide whether to shabby it up and sell, or to put in my office. It's not very deep so probably not useful enough to justify. Maybe if the weather's good I'll make a start on that tomorrow0 -
just wanted to say something ....I am absolutely in AWE !
How you can turn something not very nice into something SOOOOO desirable is just amazing
