Hello
Well, i managed to get some paint today... although it weren't F&B :S they didnt have any at all at our homebase (it was listed on F&b's site too!).. I did however pick up some reduced crown paint for 4.93 in a teal/blue called 'boutique' and a greyish called 'sidewalk'
I have popped a few pics on my homepage link of the tables... they just need to dry fully and I will sand em down and hopefully they will look bootiful hehe
Let me know what you think... I will have better pics 2moro... the pics dnt do the blue justice at the min.. much nicer colourxx

Loving the bird house bittibob. I bought those handles 12 years ago its dulled down maybe i will try and see if they polish up, off to the auction on thursday to see if I can pick up anything as I have got the bug for painting furniture!I am determined to lose weight!:kisses3:
Weight loss so far 2 stones 6lbs!! :j:j0 -
I have been a mse fan for a long time, and yet again, something on it surprises me.I am amazed and impressed by some of the lovely things you have all created.I love the white painted dresser,I would never have thought it could have looked so amazing white, and the birdhouse!!
Just to update on my house refurb.Kitchen units/utility painted (painter, sorry as already said). My aim to have a fab country style kitchen for next to nothing .
I have bought a shaker style peg hook and a pine coat hook (wooden knobs rather than hooks,),a shelf with a towel rail on front (am looking for some fancier brackets for it) picked these up for pennies and have painted them to match the units.I have discovered blackboard paint gives a good matt finish so am probably painting the kitchen cupboard knobs with that. The black looks really good and a lot cheaper than the black ceramic ones I was considering buying.I did go to my local (expensive) antique furniture shop who stock lots of old peeling coloured/shabby door knobs, and I really fancied the idea of putting a different colour old knob on every kitchen unit but OH is more traditional.poo..
I bought a yellow checked sheet from a jumble sale and hope to make some bags to hang off the pegs ( i see it in magazines, and it looks good and keeping my eye out for cath kidstone type fabric things I can use to trim it with.)
I went to dunelm to get lots of fabric samples for curtain inspiration, and realised that the samples of gingham curtain material, which have frayed, make fantastic rustic looking bows to put around some glass old fashioned jars I bought for 10p from a garage sale.I am collecting 1950s kitchen implements which are plentiful and cheap, got an old fashioned egg whisk with the handle you turn, and a metal mouli blender so far,and those big pottery beige mixing bowls. Also got a new roman blind kit for my big windows for a quid.I was given an old jones sewing machine yesterday-woo hoo again.I like the union jack look too and I bought an east of india black and white union jack postcard for 95 (damn, new ,full price) and have it on the fridge. If you don't leap, you'll never know what it is to fly :heartpuls0 -
Question,fellow bargain hunters.
Anyone got any shabby chic ideas for pictures?
I really like those old tin signs, and the wooden ones.I know you can buy them as copies for about £15 but still looking for a cheaper option before I spend.Any other ideas for nice wall decoration in an older style? If you don't leap, you'll never know what it is to fly :heartpuls0 -
what about advertising postcards?
(in "shabbied" frames from either poundland or the CS?)

i just picked a random example
buy a CD and print your own
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vintage-Advertising-Posters-CD-/260651085049?pt=UK_Collectables_Advertising_ET&hash=item3cb003ecf9
good if you know someone who would run you off a few;)
or even buying posters & frames from the CS
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-ENGLISH-VACUUM-CLEANER-ADVERTISING-POSTER-SIGN-/150488957119?pt=UK_Collectables_Advertising_ET&hash=item2309d740bf
still going to be cheaper than the tin signs
fab makes everyone:T
i do like to come here daily and pour over all your wonderful creations:D0 -
