thanks hun - she is doing really well bless her - hopping around with her frame and we went for a walk this afternoon - put her in the wheelchair - it reminded me of when I used to push her in the pram

I am loving someone's little girls room, absolutely gorgeous. I'm doing my kitchen at the moment, other dog's gone to my brothers for a few days as I'm stripping the paint off my built in dressers & she likes to sit under my feet, not good with either chemicals or hot paint dropping on her. It's being a bit of a pain to do, my ladders got rubbish treads so am standing on a chair & can only just reach the top bits. Hopefully pics dreckley!

6 - bless her - she said to me tonight Mommy I love you - even when I am not with you (she'd been talking about me going to work and missing me) I am always in your heart and here in your head (pointing to my noggin) and then she said rub noses - and gave me an eskimo kiss. Y'know no matter how bad a day gets - something like that always makes your heart melt doesnt it! Gulp!

Anyway this evening I did the corner unit with ESP and then after she had gone to bed I gave it a couple of coats of paint - another one tomorrow and that may be it - should I varnish too? Dont want it to make the colour go yellowy though?

I've been busy painting today. I've finished all the paint on the corner unit:
SDC13668.jpg?t=1282244167 Excuse the towel draped over the bannister!

I'm planning on giving it a coat of varnish and then distressing it a bit - but that can wait until I have less to get finished. I'm still undecided about the glass door. I don't want it to be a display cabinet so I could put wallpaper behind the leaded glass, or replace with persepex and put paper behind, or the cheapest option would be to cover a bit of cardboard or hardboard with wallpaper and pop that in instead, but for now it's considered finished.
I am making headway with the lovely unit Georgiabay very kindly gave to me
Have just had a close up look at yours - we tried to get the door handle off and it just wouldnt come off and I was worried about it damaging the paintwork and what the handle itself would look like when everything else was painted - I see you have painted yours - did you have to do anything to it prior to painting it

Have also been wondering about wallpapering the insides - wondered about a ck type paper or maybe a pink ticking paper - we have Sanderson Rose and Peony curtains in the lounge - its intended home and I know ticking goes nicely with that - its just where to get a few bits from - hmmm - did you just use wallpaper paste or glue or how did you stick it to the wood

I am planning on using chicken wire in the door as the glass was broken - hope that will look ok

Thanks hun - will post piccies when finished - did you go ahead and varnish yours as planned - if I do it will be matt I will use - sorry asking all these questions but you do look like you have done such a great job with it

Just a wipe on with the MSP on the metal. I thought about removing but like you didn't want to damage anything, then I tried being careful and going round them but to no avail!

I was watching a pink stripe LA wallpaper that might go on ebay, it didn't sell a couple of days ago for 99p so it may well have been relisted. There was postage on it though but can't remember how much. I stuck mine in with PVA brushed on quite thinly and evenly and left a while to go tacky as I was worried it might wrinkle the paper if too wet. It went on really well.

I haven't varnished it yet, I will probably do all the varnishing in one go so am waiting on that day. I do plan to varnish everything in sight!

Chicken wire sounds lovely, I bet your unit will look fab. The colour sounds great too, mine is more yellow than I would have liked but the F&B clearance paint was too good a bargain to miss. The colour was Farrows Cream and it looked just like thick clotted cream. I considered eating it for one fleeting moment!

You DD sounds so sweet, things like that do make my day.

thanks hun - think if you dont mind I will do the same with my handle - lee has tried to remove it but it just isnt shifting - have had a rethink about the paper in true monsey saving style - I have got some freebie wallpaper samples and having had a look through have got some of that green wallpaper with cream spots on that folks were talking about recently on here - I fell in love with it a couple of weeks back - have placed it against the unit and think it will look nice - at least I hope it will - rightyo off to put another coat on - toodleoo for now

I used laura ashley ivory it's water based and almost an emulsion because it says can be used on walls, ceilings and woodwork.
