GV - just wondered if you put the original handles back or bought new ones as the new pic had no handles...
Tara747 thanks for introducing me to Rustic Angels - looks great! I think in March I will treat the house to a few things too...

You're welcome - although it is very tempting to just buy the whole site lol!
Sounds like you got some right bargains there. (do you ever stop shopping? ;))

I  Le Creuset, I need to pick a colour and start collecting. Mum reckons it would be cool to collect mismatched pieces but I'm not sure myself what do you think?

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I didn't pick just one colour of Le Creuset... I picked two! I love the cerise (red) and the almond (cream) and am collecting both. :A I'm not fussed on the other colours (the orange is ok).

Ooh, ooh, ooh, guess what I got today? A lady on Freecycle offered 20 chapel chairs. I asked if she would consider me for 4 of them and I got them today. She was even kind enough to drop them off at my house because she only lived down the road.

They're lovely. They're solid wood, with the little shelf bit at the back for holding the prayer books. I've been wanting some for years and years, but they're hard to come by and usually out of my price range when I've seen them being sold.

I feel so lucky to have got them!

You are sooo lucky, how lovely! Can you post a pic for us all to drool over?

    Philippa36, what a lovely definition!

Hello all, I have been mind designing my pantry today. Have ordered this wallpaper and a few more essentials as i think i have a small problem when it comes to that shop....!

So wondering what paint would go with it.... a nice blue or a light pink?

Also, which paint is the best?

I also got a lovely le cruset cream shallow casserole dish for £70 on ebay. I already have a nice orange one but really was lusting after the shallower one and I quite like it that none of my things match :D

Either would work, or a red would contrast really well too. What is it that's going to be painted? The woodwork?
A silk or eggshell are good for the wood.

The wallpaper as its pretty fussy is going on one wall and the rest of the walls will be painted. Never thought about red. Could look really nice painted on the wooden shelves.....:D

Right. I wouldn't do red on the walls. Think I'd try to find a blue the same colour as the paper. Actually, Dulux can colour match from a sample of fabric or paper.

Then, I think I'd put red on the shelves. Either paint them, or you could get some red fabric or oilcloth (spotty or check would look good) to cover the shelves with. You could cut it in a zig-zag and have that edge hanging over the shelves.

That sounds really nice. I think i might take the matching tablecloth out to the store to see what will match it. I'm looking forward to doing it now!

I thought you shabby chiccer girls might enjoy this clip I found of Amy Dacyzan who wrote the Frugal Gazette all those years ago. Lot of her stuff is shabby chic - her house looks divine!

I am sooo jealous of your wallpaper wssla100, hope you post a pic of the finished look!!! :)

I'm eBaying at the mo, and have two little shabby chic red jars with stoppers - am torn between selling them as they don't go with anything in my house... and keeping them. :o But I must declutter or I will never have any space! Help me to be strong and list them.
