I know what you mean. I was going to distress my furniture a tiny bit but after all the painting I'm too scared in case I ruin it! It's so neat, I'm impressed it was freehand.0

Ok now I'm p*ssed off. I spent ages distressing the UJ and glazing over the top of it to get it looking nice and aged, and I got so excited and asked OH to come and have a look and he just pulled a face and asked if I'd finished it
so I said yes, and he said 'really?!'.
Sometimes I don't know why I bother. I might just stick the bl**dy thing on ebay and buy myself some nice shoes with the money :mad:0 -

Kaz - Have you tried your local freecycle for a dresser? I put a wanted ad on ours 2 years ago for a small dresser in any condition and got an offer straight away.....I had to unearth it from her shed but it was just what I needed. Always worth asking.
Bibbity - As long as you're pleased with the end result then just accept that men really don't seem to care what colour/finish/use anything is."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Aww Bibbity. Get your own back and ask him if the bathroom is finished just as he puts the last tile on! Or ask him what he thinks still needs to be done. If it is for him he might have had set ideas and it isnt quite what he imagined. I bet he thought that you were going to do the drawers red, white and blue! MEN
No seriously dont be upset it is fab and men dont have the same outlook on things. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
vikki - sorry can't put photo on as don't have digi camera..............well little drawers project came to a halt before it started !! OH freaked out at the thought of me painting my dads little nail/screw drawers (to give to idea of the size the little knobs are about the size of a drawing pin and I need to get two more..........well whole set really. OH insists a coat of was on top of its distressed state will keep the ''original'' look and have to admit he may be right and I do quite like the 'distressed' look.
Haven't let told him about a box I've got secretly lurking under my desk just crying out for something to be done.................lol:rotfl:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

OK - Inspiration please ladies - I have two fat quarters of this in blue:
So:- enough to make 8 cocktail napkins (I could back them in red gingham so double sided!), but they're really too small for anything - although partial to cocktails I tend not to host 'soirees' terribly often
.
- enough to make two dinner napkins - but I'd have to get some other fqs to make some more matching napkins.
- I could use them as applique on something - new tablecloth? tea cosy? kenwood cover?
- Stick them back in the stash for another day.
What would you do?
Edit:
My kitchen (avvie would have been too small!):"A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.0 - enough to make 8 cocktail napkins (I could back them in red gingham so double sided!), but they're really too small for anything - although partial to cocktails I tend not to host 'soirees' terribly often

Love your kitchen PK. What about using it to make an oven glove, Smaller bits to applique onto napkins, Bunting ?0
