    Thank you!

cmazza - the cushion's lovely. Very well done x

pennib - I've just realised that the picture makes the bag look much bigger than it really is - it measures about 8" high and 9" across - it really is a strange size, too small to be a shopping bag, too big to be a small handbag. I'd love it if it were the size it looks in the picture! I think I shall enlarge the pattern and make a decent sized one!

KarleyMarie - you'd be surprised what you can do when you put your mind to it!

Pollyskettle - You say you have children any in nappies! You bag looks like the perfect nappy bag :D

Cmazza - Well done on your cushion cover i love it, you tea towels are beautiful!

Well we have had a busy day! Chairs done pretty much just the table left to sort! I am so pleased with my chairs - I have some red spotty oilcloth left hanging around and was going to cover the seat with them but hubby said to me "You'll ruin them with that" So thats as good as "Get some of the Cath K oilcloth you wanted" I also bought a small wall grandfather style clock today which is drying at the moment i can't wait to finish that too!

I saw the most beautiful gramophone inside a table today at the bootsale it was £100 and hubby told me to get it, i refused thinking it was expensive. I am now kicking myself it was working too the table looked like

Ooops - I think I've got everyone confused!

This is what I have - easy_sand.jpg and it just doesn't feel like it's done enough to paint over the varnish etc.

This is what I think of when someone mentions ESP -
    _37388__38591__.jpghttp://www.diytools.co.uk/diy/Main/sp-44-10142-37388-esp-primer-1lt-makes-paint-stick-to-shiny-surfaces.asp

Sounds amazing, but I can't find it anywhere in the shops.

I almost bought this today -
    wipe_on_multi_surface_primer.jpg
which looked exactly like ESP but when I read the can it said only for use with oil based paint grrr,

Still no closer, but I am testing the crabbys alcoholic ginger beer atm and I can recommend that!

D'ya know, it would be perfect for that, but mine are far too old now, from 8 to pseudo teen (12!). It's still got my threads in for now......

  • i bit the bullet & bought ESP for my dresser
its a huge brute of a thing and it stood in the middle of an empty room for 2 weeks waiting on me sanding it
i ost the will to live just thinking about it

the ESP works out at £25 a litre with postage
i wondered if i would need 2 litres
dresser is8ft long approx and over 6ft high

    i bought 1 litre
spent half an hour wiping it on, you can do it indoors as it has little smell
and only used 2" out the tub

it looks like it doesnt do anything
and doesnt feel like it does either
but the dresser was VERY high gloss finish and it worked a treat

i wouldnt hesitate to spend the money on it again

the dresser is in my kitchen and is used daily for lots of storage jars, so needed to be hard wearing, so far so good
  • Hello all x

Little shabbying done here due to the small people being home and demanding attention (we're halfway through today, btw - 23 days down, 23 to go :D ).

In the last two days however I have made the bag from the Cath Kidston 'Sew' book - it's a pretty useless size so it's got my sewing bits in it at the moment:

Heres my attempt at the bag too :D

Where did you buy yours from Midnight Raven?
  • i got it from here

    http://www.upkeepers.co.uk/Product/00701

came very quickly and in a thick sealed bag
which i have kept it in

i thought it was quite expensive before buying
but the dresser i was doing had 5 doors with detail
    4 drawers

and i really did think about buying a new one, but this was sturdy and perfect for what i wanted it for
i was really pleased with it

And I found a Moda charm set in my stash along with some backing fabric but no wadding (:() so I started on a new blanket for the dog:

When the wadding and binding arrives next week I shall get it finished. I mitred the corners, which I have never done before, so I'm rather proud :D!!!
love love love the bag and the fabric is so beautiful
