Hope to have my kitchen back and bright soon so I can show you all
Im so glad you are all putting pics of your makeovers to keep me going :T I will pop back in after work tonightGetting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

Hart - Just a thought but are you using a roller? Much quicker"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

Keep nibbling away at it Hart you will get there in the end, and it will look fab. I often use
a roller as well as Pooky says much quicker!0 -
Thank you EL. Pooky and Pennib
I was thinking I need to buy a little roller for the underside of the wall cupboards as I dont fancy laying on the work top with a brush :rotfl: I have to go buy some more sandpaper tomorrow so will get a roller too
I must admit my kitchen is looking brighter already. I am now waiting for my Laura Ashley wallpaper to arrive from ebay so I can put it on the back of one cupboard I have decided to leave open (one less door to paint :rotfl:)Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

Keep going Hart, it will be well worth it in the end! I've got some photos of my wardrobes uploaded. I've looked everywhere for lovely old fashioned wardrobes to paint up with no luck - either too expensive or too far away and by the end of last week I was pretty desperate to get all the piles of clothes off the bedroom floor
and bought three for £25, plus the chap threw in a gorgeous French bureau and upholstered headboard for free (photos to follow!).
One of the wardrobes is tiny, but lovely and will be gorgeous painted, but the other two are pretty nasty on the outside (bizarrely, one has a beautiful antique interior, complete with shelf labels, but the outside has been remade in 70's style :rotfl:). I'm planning to add some strips of wood around the edges of the doors and get my Dad to router me a couple of curved tops then add new handles and paint so they're in the same style as this Laura Ashley one I've pictured below too...might not work but watch this space

I used a brush to brush paint on fairly thick, then rollered over the top to get a smooth finish, worked well!0 -
