    Hi all,
Been busy this weekend painting bathroom final coats of white, painting new wood panelling in dining room white and also reupholstering my 1st ever chair. The set of 4 chairs cost £20 so £5 each. The reupholstery materials cost £25 for all 4 chairs, so all in £11.25 per chair.

    Before and after pic

Or blog post here if you can't see that for any reason.

Not sure why I can't get it to show here if it's on Flickr and my blog? Can anyone help...

Has anyone got tips on reupholstering? This one was a 'remove pad and re-upholster then staple back into place' type one, so quite easy.
Also I am not keen on the dark varnish the chairs currently have - any ideas? I tried some wire wool on one side and it toned down the varnish and gave a very smooth finish - but lots of work! Maybe sanding first then wire wool to finish?

Those chairs and fabric are lovely EL.
I'd definitely paint them off white but then I'm on a mission to eliminate all shades of brown from my life so I would say that lol!

GeorgiaBay sadly the pic won't display, don't know why...

I would too xxvickixx but we're also aware of painting too many things he he... nothing in the house is safe from off white paint (me) and now oak varnish (MrEL)!

Oh, I can see it now!

I love the flower detail on the backs. I agree that off white would look lovely with the pale coloured fabric.

The chairs look great EagerLearner. I am going to subscribe to your blog too.

I am sure Bibbitybob is busy with the new house. Takes ages just to unpack and settle in but I am sure she will be back soon, with plenty of transformations. Can't wait to see more pics of her new place and those gorgeous door knobs.

chairs look fab - el - I too can see them painted - they have lovely detailing to them

re flickr - I dunno really the right way but what works for me is uploading them to flickr then clicking on the picture where it says actions at the top left click on that which gives you the options and I click on view all sizes choose your size the cushions are done on Medium once it goes to medium size right click and then highlight properties - this brings up a new box and you will see the url address copy that then go to post here and enter ** but without the stars either side - do not leave a space instead paste the link and then again without a space ** again without spaces and make sure you use the square brackets not the rounded ones - I hope this helps if not let me know and I will try again

not seen bibbitybob on here for a while....you OK bibbity??? Hopefully just busy with new house type stuff.

I'm so touched that you missed me newmee, I actually just read your and cmazza's posts out to my OH because I was so chuffed :o

I'm back! :j we've had the internet installed today, and have been very busy unpacking around a crazy daytime work schedule. I had an awful week last week...pulled over by the police one day and then a car accident the next! Then we had a burst pipe in the ceiling the same evening and the first we knew was when water came flooding through the light fittings and switches downstairs  luckily all's well that ends well and OH is in the process of fitting my new bathroom suite.

I have some finds to share with you once I get the photos uploaded, but not had time for makeovers yet. As soon as possible, I promise! Just enjoying having the internet back and catching up on all your hard work!! x
