:j yeah she's back :j so sorry about all the bad luck bibbity....hopefully the joy of all the good things your new home brings will pale them into insignificance. And in true bibbity style you've still had time to get some bargains! Can't wait to see them

I started on my blank tray yesterday, painted it up off white and tried to get the oilcloth to stick to the base but to no avail so far! Photo's when I'm done.

gingababe I love your comment about looking for a table and chairs and buying a wardrobe :rotfl:I have that very same wandering ebay eye!!

Happy chic-ing one and all xx

Newmee tray sounds good and can't wait to see pics!

Welcome back Bibbitybob and sorry to hear about the problems - hopefully it's all sorted now! These things always happen at worst of times - our shower stopped working Sunday - what a pain - luckily I had already washed hair!

What is your other half doing on bathroom? We're tempted to redo ours and try to do a fair bit ourslves to save cash... any tips? x

well not done much SC lately. although in my head i have.lol.

HAd another charity bag come today and in the process of filling it , i picked up a black iron swirly candle stick holder. I like it , but hate the fact it black. just as i was gonna put it in bag i thought about given it a makeover.

I gave it a good clean all over, sprayed it with some of hubbys grey metal primer and then used the emulsion paint i painted the clock in to give it a finishing cover. in end it had about 3 coats of cream as it was hard to paint it all in one go and not miss bit. but It looks fantastic. i had thought about painting it before , but didn't think it would work so didn't do it. i'm so glad i did now.

    before

and after . i didn't paint inside where the candle sits as once candle in there you can't see it.

I have still got to stuff it properly yet - its got two bags of pasta in at the mo so they will have to come out - what is best - some folk say cat litter - I dont know the first thing about that as I have a strong aversion to cats!

looks fabulous - everything takes on a different look now doesnt it - you view things how they could be rather than how they are and then go for it - fabulous!

It works really well and doesn't hurt your feet when you invariably collide with the doorstop!!
