    Hi there,

There's a Le Creuset outlet shop at the junction 32 outlet village (j32 of M62). i'm not sure where you are, but there'll be other outlet stores around the country I should think.

If you want to make or makeover existing items have a look on etsy and adapt the ideas to what you've got or can find in charity shops, it's a great source of inspiration.

    Hi tara,

As the existing shabby chic thread is now on the front page of the Old Style board I've added your thread to it to keep the replies and ideas together.

I've got one just like that, except mine is from Aldi. I love cooking in it.

But this below would be perfect for any CK fans
as a Christmas present and when finished does
look as good as anything in the CK shops, even
has the logo on and considerably cheaper than
buying ready made, washes great and no ironing.
Cheapest cushion in our CK at moment is £18

dont know how shabby chic this is
but you can make really nice
    cushion covers from tea towels
and it can often work out cheaper
than buying a ready made one
this one below was a Cath Kidston
one it was £6 made up it measures
    10 inches by 14 inches.Hardy any
sewing just sew up each side and
use a couple of small pieces of
velcro to fasten on the back.
I bet cushions in CK are a lot
more expensive than the one I
made here,so its also good money
    saving too

I had to make a cushion pad to fit inside
but an old pillow will provide plenty of
filling or buy one cheap £1 in Asda or
any pound shop. Also there are lots of
different tea towels in the shops a lot
cheaper than the one I used, its just I
thought this was too nice to just dry
    dishes with.

I got out the mini sewing machine and have not figured out how to make it work!!! The shame! It's called the JML Mini Stitcher, does anyone have one? I was hoping to get started on making something, have a stash of pretty remnants that could make lovely cushion covers and peg bags.

I've been having a right nosey online this evening too... have fallen totally in love with this site and the prices seem reasonable compared to eBay:

OK, off to bed before I start buying everything in sight!!! This shabby chic thing could work out very expensive! :rotfl:

Keep the tips coming, you are all very helpful xoxo
