Can I ask - has anyone painted any garden furniture - we have all wooden tables and chairs and a bench - and although they are only a couple of years old - they are getting small splits in them and the paint is disintegrating on them - what do I need to do - is it just a bit of a light sand to give it a key or do I need to really sand right down and which paint is best - anyone done it???? Thanks in advance

Hi Danemi....i lightly sanded our garden furniture down with a sander. Then painted them with B&Q`s own brand woodstain. But we do store them in the shed at winter, to protect them further.

Hi - Janebo - I've been to bury several times this weekend - stocking up with meat and fish from the market - trying to bulk buy, hopefully to save myself some pennys. When does the new shopping centre open - it looks huge??

I've just found this website dont know if anyones been on it before but theres lots of makeovers including some shabby chic!!
    http://www.idealhomemagazine.co.uk/community/forums/postlist.php/Cat/0/Board/Transformations

Natc - I have one of those laundry baskets - it was my grandmas, but there was never a cushion on it - it was a piece of perspex!! Dont know if that was in replacement of a cushion or not?

I will try to upload some of my finds this week - we are in the process of sanding at the mo.

Can I just ask - am I doing this right: I have a large priory sideboard / dresser in very dark oak, we have started to sand it but intend painting the sides and leaving the tops wood. When painting do I sand it lightly just to provide a key, then prime, then paint?? i am going to use eggshell, either laura ashley or f&b.

    Thanks

    Deb x
