Somebody stop me! I've gone refurb mad. I bought these today and then this fabric to cover them with. I also bought this which seems a real bargain. I already had one from wilkinsons but it wasn't up to the job of recovering the dining chairs so as it was such a good price I couldn't resist. So many things to do and no time. Maybe if I started painting instead of sitting on here there'd be more progress!
ETA: I didn't pay £45 for the chairs but £25 and the deal was done outside Ebay. Infact the seller just left them outside his house and asked me to put the money through the letterbox. I managed to fit thm both in my little A-class mercedes.0 -
can anyone please advise me - I have sanded and varnished a dining room chair - they were originally dark wood and polished - I have given them three coats of f and b paint in dimity after hearing good reports about it on here - have sanded again to distress/shabby - what do I use now to protect - I have got satin varnish - didnt know if that was ok or should I buy some matt varnish - anyone please - am sat with brush all ready to go0

Ooh those chairs are divine. A year or so ago when I was really into the whole shabby chic thing and had just started I went totally mad - especially sewing boxes lol. I had soooo much furniture that I bought and painted, but I loved all of it. In the end it just got too much and I sold a lot of it, but kept my favourite piece, which I still have.
Yesterday I went into the CS for a book though and ended up buying a chair/cupboard/magazine rack thing (I need to take a photo of it!!) so I feel that the addiction is beginning again lol. Luckily there's only me and the children so no husband/partner to moan at the ever increasing amount of furniture again!!
Can't wait to see the chairs once you've done them
