HockeyDuo - That's wonderful, so relieved for you! :j

mioliere - Welcome back, we've really missed you!

bethebee - I love reading your posts and they are never boring.

D & DD and sunnygirl - Big ((((HUGS))))

Pink-winged - I had a chuckle reading about your DS using his Mum's hair straighteners - our 15yo DGS does the same thing :D He dyes his light brown hair black into the bargain. It does suit him though.

wannabe sybil - Your GP doesn't seem very helpful

taplady - No wonder you've been feeling yuck! Hope the supplement will help quickly.

Not done much today, still resting as much as poss, but the kitchen towels and teatowels are on the line. We went round to see DD2, DSIL and grandchildren this morning. They are ok, though DD2 v tired as doing extra night shifts, still no job interviews on the horizon for DSIL so he is thinking of retraining as a plumber if he can get some sort of maintenance grant.

We are going to the Weald of Kent Craft Show tomorrow - we go most years, and take DD1 with us as she loves being in the country. There's going to be a picture framer there, so will take a print we bought in Cornwall which DH loves, and I'll get it framed for him as his birthday present (his birthday's not until 11th may but he can have it a bit early :p) I'll take my stick-stool with me so I can sit down whenever I need to.

Hope you all have a good evening.

    Hi everyone

Thank you all for the kind thoughts and good wishes. Yest went as well as it possibly could. Obviously it was really sad but the service was lovely, hubbie held up really well but did manage a little cry - which was long overdue and much needed! He finds it very hard to let go but felt a bit better I think afterwards. Lots of hugs and chatting to relatives afterwards helped to ease the tension somewhat.

I can't begin to tell you how much your support has meant to me this past fortnight. Even though alot of the time I didn't feel able to post, I read the thread everyday. Thank you all so much:A:A:A

Today we have not done much at all, we are all so tired after yest emotion. We will get back to emptying the flat tomorrow but just need to rest and recoup somewhat today, so I am afraid it will be some form of takeaway for tea.:o

We have just been to pick up MiLs ashes and will be planning a trip to Scotland to scatter them at some point as both her and late FiL loved it there.

SunnyGirl hope your Father is ok at least he is close to home this time.
D&DD hope your FiL is Ok

Hugs to anyone else who needs them and sorry if I missed any birthdays.

Thank you again you are wonderful friends:grouphug:

P.S. WannabeSybil which floor at the Doctors are you - I am on the first floor!

Thank you to those of you who have asked about DD and her family, the news is that until the level is raised to 6 they are stuck in Mexico.........they are trying to make the best of a bad job. DD says it is a wonderful place, but she would enjoy it more if she was not watching everyone wondering if they have the dreaded lurgy...........should the level rise they will be flown home.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Nic1Lou2 - I am on the second floor, so just a little away, this is so spooky, and such a small world. Next time I call in I shall bring in little bear to see you, who currently looks like a War on Want poster child - all eyes and pale. Teething!

I am really glad it went as well as it could. It is always such a tough time. Hopefully it will start to heal now. I'm still thinking of you.

:o If you have had a flyer through for the Nosh Inn, sadly I can recommend it after far too many takeaways.

Well, today I have spent a large amount of time cuddling LB and reading him stories.

Also I am considering stocking up on some tinned stuff, not much, just a few tins of extra soup, and trying to get darling father to stay with me if there is disruption over this flu thingy. I do get silly about these things, and I know I do, but then you think, well you never know and before you know it you have dithered all afternoon - in my case putting things on and taking things off my online food order from Mr S. :o

Apart from that - um... :o

But I do have ironing planned this evening, and knitting, so I hope that counts.

    HockeyDuo - congratulations!!!! :j:j:j :beer::beer:

    Hugs to all.

Edited to add - cross posted with Csarina - I hope your DD will be fine, it must be very odd with everywhere shut. Sending hugs, best wishes and prayers to both you and your loved ones.

    Evening all,

Shopping this morning for the 'big shop' of the month, seem to be running through money as if it were water! Bought 2 long promised new pillows for OH and I....€48 even with a 20% reduction...these will do a long time I tell you. Will wash old ones now and use as cushion stuffing, have 2 covers knitted since before Christmas so they can now be filled and put away for Christmas 09.

Oh bought 2 bottles of wine ( yes, I know he is not meant to drink!) came home, put bag containing bottles on a chair....one rolled out and shattered before I could get to it...OH mopped up and washed whole kitchen floor so that is something I won't have to do before the weekend.

Having pork chops, roast onion, carrot, peas and squash with baked potatoes to-night, looking forward to it as I am hungry...had lunch at 11.45 and just a glass of juice since.

Knitting again to-night, almost finished third white baby cardigan in case someone comes up and surprises me with a new baby!

    Have a good night all

    Good evening everyone :hello:

I'm glad that most people are in fine form. ;) However there's a dodgy hug :grouphug: to any that are in need.

Thank goodness work is over for the week. It seems like it's been a particularly long one. Unfortunately, one of my class is behaving like a pain in the behind and he has zapped all my energy.

We're off to see my "boys" (ie Leicester Tigers rugby) in Cardiff this weekend and staying on a campsite recommended by stefejb . I've printed out most vouchers for restaurants "just in case"!

I've have a semi-windfall today. A colleague at school has given me some seedlings: cherry tomatoes, normal tomatoes, peppers and basil. I'm going to be planting them next week  :j :j.

Anyway, DH has just text me to say that he's on his way home so I'd better go and get the curry on!

    Have a great weekend.
