Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for !st May. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning. Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

Morning. Pinch punch and all that good stuff!

Looks to be a nice sunny day, but rain by tea time. Great!

Beer and curry at Spoons was probably the best I have had there. Even better was the beer festival at £1.69 a pint. One thing about Wethys' is that the budget increase has no affect on the prices. Downside is they put all the other nicer little pubs out of business. Still we had a great early evening and I managed to leave before the silly drinking started.

Work this morning, so I have a clear head.

Long weekend for me. Bank Holiday off. Weather looks good. Might get some gardening done. Cheers and have a nice day

Padstow Obby Oss day today...... check it out.

    Morning Peeps

last day here at w*rk today then 4 days off :j unfortunately the housework beckons but only on rainy days - i`m keeping the nice ones for the garden.:D

We had a downpour yesterday so i didn`t manage to get the grass cut but i did a few bits and bobs in the greenhouse and skillfully avoided anything that needed doing in the house:D

I shall have to iron later though as i did promise myself that i would not let it all build up again. Tea tonight is sausage and onion pie, i`m not sure what we will be having with it though so any suggestions would be most welcome.

    ((((HUGS)))) for Nic1lou2

    Have a good day peeps

I changed my Broadband to sky and have sky for my phonecalls too but kept the line rental with BT and i can`t fault it. The downside is that you have to have sky tv to have their Broadband so i just have the bare bones.

My Sister changed the lot over line rental included and had a couple of teething problams but all is well now.

I would recommend them but it`s not for everyone as many don`t want the television part.

    Morning all,

Pretty tired atm. DGS had a few nightmares last night so was up with him a few times. Of course he went straight off to sleep but I wasn't so lucky. He then woke up at 3.30am to say he'd wet the bed. First time he's done it so can't really complain. I put him in ours then & I don't think I went back to sleep. Well if I did it didn't seem like it. :D

DD coming over tonight and she's rung to say not to cook tea. :T Her firm ordered pizza's for lunch & the pizza firm mixed up the order. They made new ones but they brought the ones they cooked originally so she's bringing 2 home. I haven't had bought pizza for years but it's free & I don't have to cook it. Sounds good to me. ;) DGS left around 3pm. DH came home around lunch and he & DGS have been down stairs doing boy stuff ie: catching grasshoppers and giving them to the chooks. :D I stayed upstairs and vacumed & mopped the floors.

DGS & I went to a garage sale this morning. I bought a picture frame, tablecloth, enough curtain material to make curtains for our downstairs bedroom & thick cream curtaining to make some Morse bags. All for $8. Bargain. We then went to the park and a good play for 1 hour. :) I made some bags for my DSis as part of her Xmas gift and they worked out well. I'm nearly out of shopping bags atm. Well if you've read all this rubbish you all need a medal. :D

Hope you all have a lovely day & weekend. <hugs> to those not well. Byeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning all,

Nice day here, and I have a day off :T, will drop dd at the station and come back and have a good clean and tidy through, and get all the washing done, which will give me a head start over the weekend.

Sunnyday, how about wedges with your pie ?? nice and easy.

Looby, so sorry your ds did not get to have his treatment, fingers crossed for next time.

Nic, hope all went well yesterday.

I am going to do a turkey curry for tea, with rice and popadoms, think I will sc it, looking forward to it, will wash it down with a glass of wine.
I was going to plant some seedlings out today, but the local paper warned us not to for another week of so, as we may still have frost

Ok need another cuppa, have fun all xx

Smoky hope you are ok xx

    Have good days all xx

Grrrh - finished post and it vanished! That hasn't happened for ages, but very frustrating!
Not too much sleep, too many issues chasing themselves through my brain, but the upside is that the washing is finished and ready to hang out and the ironing basket is empty again. Was planning on a day out to the seaside today, but think I may have a few things to deal with here instead. Need to look at the shopping list ready for tomorrow too. Hope you all have a good day today - ((HUGS)) to all who need one.

    Good Morning All

N9eav - that looks lovely, have a great day.

Have loads to do today as yesterday ended up having a high temperature, shaky and shivery and spent the day on the sofa, kids were very concerned that I had swine flu! Anyway went to bed at 6 slept right through and feel much better today.

First jobs will be cleaning bathrooms, making filling for pie (didnt have it yesterday) and ironing. OH has promised to hoover through and wash the floors for me.

Have loads of washing to do, very misty here at the moment so I will take that as a sign that will be beautiful here today and get it all line dried.

Would like to make sausage rolls and choc brownies but that may have to wait till tomm.

Have a lovely day its Friday:j

    Morning All!
    Nice and sunny here today.
MS Awareness week this week, so this morning I am going to town to help man a stall promoting awareness. People are having "Cake Breaks" today to, so if you see one advertised, please go and support them!:T
Meeting an ex-work collegue for lunch today. The first one of my official retirement!:rotfl:

Taking DD to London tomorrow. We are off to see Jason Donovan in "Priscilla, Queen of the desert". We love the film, so we hope we will love the musical!

If anyone is in the south coast area over the weekend, particularly Monday, come to Hastings and see our "Jack-in-the-green" Spring festival. Really worth a look. Loads of Morris Dancers and people dressed up. Also, ifyou like motorcycles, 30,000 usually descend on us then!:eek: Great day thoough!

    Well, enjoy the day folks!
