Morning everyone! Well, I gave washing my face in the May dew a miss, as it's a horrible wet & windy morning here.
Last night though was a lovely evening and the sunset was spectacular. I manged to take a couple of photos and I've posted them onto my Flickr site
http://www.flickr.com/photos/nessie-1tt/3491818668/
Managed to get a couple of loads of washing dried outside last night before it started raining.
Topped up the freezer with some items from the Co-op's RTC section - so have got some quick meals to fall back on when I'm busy in the next few weeks
Glad it's a Friday, but I've got plenty on this weekend.
Mioliere - lovely to see you back!
Have a good Friday everyone

Morning everyone :hello:
Just grabbing a coffee and a surf and deciding whether to stay inside and do crafty things or brave the pouring rain to get on in the garden.
I don't mind the rain so I might just garden and then reward myself with a hot bath before lunch.
I have loads of pruning to do and some more potting up. I have lost 3 lettuces and 2 courguettes to the slugs. I wish I could use pellets but we have so much wildlife in the garden that I can't bear to. I'm thinking of ordering some nemetodes on t'internet.
So far I have got Dtwin2 organised for school which involved her dressing up as a fairytale charachter. She wanted to be Cinderella pre makeover.
I put her in a smock dress that I wore aged 6 in 1979.
She has a feather duster and coal smudges on her nose. all the other little girls were dressed as red riding Hood and Tinkerbell but she was determined to "get into her part" :rotfl:. They are preforming a small play and she asked me to tell her to break a leg before she got on the bus. Bless.
Kitchen is swished and swiped and living room tidied. Cat, dog and garden birds are fed. I can't do upstairs as OH and FIL are still in bed (not together
) after consuming copius amounts of wine last night. I abstained and had an early night.
Better get a move on. was going to phone Pink but have remembered that her boys are off today so i doubt she will have made it out of her pit yet.
:D

Morning OS Peeps,
Well i have had one helluva week. We were meant to complete on our house last Friday and it all fell through:mad::eek: So there has been a lot of stress and tears and with OH only getting back from offshore yesterday, the events have been enough to turn me to drink (4 G&T's last night;))
Anyway.....OH to the rescue; he is going to Solicitor to sort everything out today so me may complete early next week. ALthough I am being cautiously optimistic. Sadly will have to fork out about £170 in interest charges:mad:
So this is last day at work and then I have a week off:jOH is running in a 10K race on Sunday to raise money for the families that lost there loved ones in the recent helicopter crash so will be cheering him on. We are going to get our Fridgefreezer etc ordered and a new sofa ( I had no idea they can take up to 12 weeks to deliver it
)
OS today is packed lunch and then the last bits in the freezer for tea. SC is on with some chicken and veg casserole. That's about it unfortunatly as it's all gone out the window a little this week.
Soapnuts - Not a success, they did not get the clothes clean. Feel a bit let down:rotfl:Ah well...
Hugs all round today, hope everyone has a fab bank hol and keep your fingers crossed for me getting my keys!!!!
Off to read back now...Spreading the gospel that is Martin Lewis to the future generation....I'm a Home Economics Teacher and being thrifty is the way!:A0 -
I'll never remember all I want to mention...
Salopman - have a great holiday! You earn it!
Betheebee - you are an inspiration to me. You get so much right and to someone like me who struggles along it is a real inspiration. Please don't wander away from here, I miss it when you don't post.
Moliere - Great to see you back!!
Christabell - we have a lot of interruptions with our Sky Broadband, but that may just be the connections round here.
AussieLass - it is so hard when you are woken in the night. Last night little bear did one of his midnight specials - he does a big upset cry in his sleep and then carries on undisturbed. I was thoroughly and completely asleep when he cried out, however, sat bolt upright, tried to climb into the wash basin next to my bed and couldn't settle for ages. If you are lying there in the dark waiting for sleep to happen I think it tires you out even more. I hope you have a relatively restful day. Or night.
Little bear had a bad night for him - he didn't go to sleep until 9pm, not because he wasn't tired because he was absolutely exhausted. But in his room there is an electric heater that has been there since he was born. It was removed after he wrapped the cord round his neck and bit into the cable (teething!). He did not approve of this change in the bedroom, it was not right, and it wasn't fair!
We are off to the Drs soon, but I shall have to walk him over as dear heart has the pushchair in the boot of the car. It is the furthest I have walked with him locally. I am also not looking forward to trying to keep him in one place while we are waiting.
I'm exhausted, he is looking like he could be tired today, so if anything OS happens here today I shall post in triumph. Dear heart is bringing in fish & chips.
Sunnygirl - So sorry to hear about your father, but it sounds like they are getting to the bottom of it all. Lots of hugs and prayers from me.
Hugs to all and I am sorry if I have missed anyone!
Edited to add after cross post - Hockey Duo, so sorry to hear about your house. Hope it works out soon.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Just waiting for OH to come home, his dad was discharged against med advice yesterday..v long story but just had a call from safecall he's had 2 falls and they went in this morning and he'd fallen through a glass coffee table and couldn't get up..so I'm disappearing again!
On our way to A&E in Chichester..
Hope to see you all soon

A beautiful May Day here in Worcester- sorry if it's raining where you are. It is the first time in year that I can remember the may (hawthorn) blossom being in bloom on May Day, it is usually later.
I've just been to Sainsbury's to stock up on wine for the long weekend:beer:
I think I'll be able to get all my washing dried outside today. Other than that I haven't got much on. I could do loads of gardening but somehow I don't think that'll happen:rolleyes:
The kids started the day with bacon sandwiches on wholemeal and have granary ham sandwiches, tomatoes, flapjacks and grapes for lunch.
For those who were asking yesterday, the flapjacks with treacle were eaten without comment so I assume they were acceptable.
Dinner will be mince but I'm not sure how it will appear, possibly a cobbler:think:
Dinner last night was a bit of a disaster-stir fry fish and prawns. The pollack did not behave and was reduced to mush in the wok. The plastic handles on my (rubbish) wok melted and now my kitchen smells of fish mingled with melted plastic:rolleyes:
Haribo I'm shocked to see how young you are! Is Pink older than you? Mioliere I was just talking to someone in the school playground about how France shuts on May Day. You get another holiday next Friday too don't you for VE Day?
Hockeyduo I hope you get your move sorted, it is horrid being in limbo. Does your OH work on the rigs?
Hilstep I love Priscilla Queen of the Desert too:D Bet Jason Donovan will be brilliant in it.0 -
Just a quickie, before I go - I am with Talk Talk the cheapest around, and had no real problems, I have the line with them too, een though Martin does not recommend this NOW!
DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Morning all,
Mioliere, it's great to have you back.
NicLou, I hope yesterday went as well as it could.
Beth, I love your posts just as they are.
Aussie, I hope you manage to get more sleep tonight.
Stef, the man's a fool!
SunnyGirl, thinking of you and your family. At least he's nearer home this time.
HockeyDuo, good luck to your oh in the race on Sunday.
thriftlady, behave yourself!

Haribo, I am out of my pit...just not properly awake.
I remember you in that dress, I hope you took a pic of dt2.
It certainly doesn't feel like May here today....it's freezing cold outside, dark and very, very wet. Which is a shame as ds1 has a friend staying for the weekend and I was hoping to get all the bedding out onto the line this morning. They are doing some modelling at a fashion show tonight so I will have two teenage boys preening themselves in the bathroom this evening.
Plans for today are to do a general pre-weekend tidy up, cook fajitas for tea, get my paperwork done and into the office and play monoply with ds2 who has joined a board game club and is using me as his number one opponent to practise with. Nothing to do with the fact that he usually beats me of course.
Last night at work tonight then we're all off for the weekend. :j
I'd better go and get this bedding out of the machine. Have a good day everyone.
