Had loads of replies for my 'offereds' today, not unexpectedly!

I was quite amazed by the lovely and polite e-mails I received (but then again, I had said only polite e-mails would be accepted, and rude 'I'll have 'em ones would be trashed)
I got no sob stories (which I detest) and instead got some thoughtful replies, including one from a lady who is involved in a project in her garden, and sent me photos to demonstrate how she could put the bits and bobs to good use. I think she's going to be the lucky one, but will wait til tomorrow as I said I'd wait 24 hours to decide who got them

I think I'm getting my faith back in freecycle  But have to say, our Mods are really doing a good job in our group. So nice not to see the ridiculous shopping lists any more, and a lot more 'offereds'

Click on the link, go right to the bottom of all his adverts and there is the tv for sale, £100, plus a bargain Sky box for the giveaway price of £125.:rotfl: Well at least he typed the title correctly and says its free to collect, goodness knows how those cheeky freecyclers out there get away with charging for collection these days.

Not a problem in Surrey - I personally live closer to the majority of another group, than to much of my own home group. We don't see cross-posting as a problem if if finds new homes for things!

Also consider the situation that you may work or often be in another group area to that you live in so collection/offerring becomes a possibility without travelling "extra" .

Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Snowball says too far away, working hard to bring it forward.

I decided to split my offereds between 2 people. I've written to say that once they give me a specific day and time to collect, I will then give them my address.
Always do it this way because I've found there's less potential for me to be messed around with collections. In the past I'd say 'Yes, you can have it, my address is xxxxxxx and can you collect on xxxxxx' and people haven't replied but just turned up at really inconvenient times.

i agree with you, if i put something in, i prefer it to be picked up at my convenience, i also like the way you wait til you get enough responses as i do as well, i do get pretty peed off by those who post - went to the first person on my list - and many of us arnt around during the times the mods let the ads go thru x

I just heard back from Freecycle that this is a spammer who is targeting all groups in the country, so look out for the bargain sky box near you soon! He offered a giveaway mountain bike recently but i assume now that it was not a freebie.

Freecycle also arent really prepared to do anything about the shoddy moderation, so its goodbye to freecycle for me and back to os posting on classifieds or giving to charity.

Well, my offereds have been collected. Lovely chap who came at the pre-arranged time on behalf of his wife. She's the one who sent me photos of her little garden and described how my offereds would help. I also got a lovely thank you e-mail.
What a lovely couple - so nice when it works out well, as this did.
