just a quickie to say freecycle is fab. We're moving house and have heaps of stuff thats no use to us anymore but still has life left in it!! Feels sooooo much better giving it to someone rather than chucking it in a skip- saves money for skip too

Freecycle has helped me & my partner pass on stuff we don't need to people that do, incl. kitchen units, a gas cooker, a toilet window, plant pots, a radiator, table & 4 chairs, a mattress & various electrical items. The only negative side are the people who reply & then never contact you to arrange collection, hasn't happened often though.

    Today's "unusual" request:
Hi I know its a long shot, but would anyone out there in freecycle
land have an adult Snow White costume size 12 to borrow or keep. My
daughter has a 16th birthday party to go to next week and I thought
I'd try on here before attempting to try and make something that may
resemble Snow White and or a Prince charming costume for her boyfriend
    in Medium size

I'm just off to check my wardrobe but I'm not hopeful.....
    Can I help?

I get very frustrated with people moaning about freecycle.

My opinion is ... it's free, it's extremely unlikely that you'll be the only person requesting something, so it's not worth getting upset about - just be happy if you do get it! :)

I think it's definitely one of those things where you get back what you put in - I've received several items that I needed, but I've also offered, I always think carefully about my reply and am polite, open and honest, and always remember to say thank you!

(just been offered loads and loads of fleece, plastic sheeting and netting for my allotment :) )
