    EDINBURGH FREECYCLE OFFER -

I am offerring for free - 4 large bin bags full of various women's clothing, sizes 14 through to 20, some maternity but most normal. Nice winter coats, tops, trousers, also shoes, about 4 pairs of jeans, etc.

I am 23 to give an indication of the type of clothes.

Pickup from near Haymarket (in the West End - Morrison Circus)

Freecycle aren't posting my offer for some reason, hence am posting here in case anyone from Edinburgh is interested...

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but I need to shift these bags of clothes quickly and for some reason, Edinburgh freecycle aren't posting it (have been a member for over a year, dont see why not!)

    Cheers.

Have you asked them why?? I am sure they would be of use to someone - especially the maternity stuff !!!

Don't think you're allowed to post this, as giving it away would entail sharing personal details which is against the rules on this site.

Email the owner of the group, if your group email address is edinburghfreecycle@yahoogroups.com, the owner would be edinburghfreecycle-owner@yahoogroups.com - or edit depending on the name of your group.
  • It is against the rules, as it posting the same post over several different board.

If it hasn't been posted on Freecycle you will have received an email to tell you why not.

PERSONAL DETAILS AND THE OFFERING OF ITEMS FOR SALE/TRADE/EXCHANGE/SWAP/GIFTS

Please refrain from requesting the exchange of personal details either on the forum, via PM or email; particularly for the purposes of selling/trading/exchanging/swapping or giving as gifts. This includes posting links to your ebay auctions, or other forms of advertising.

If someone appears to be selling items on the board it may be deleted by the board guides/forum team. The aim is to protect site users as however honourable the intention, your safety is paramount.

You're life will never be the same again!

You will spend all day checking through emails from your local freecycle just in case there is something that you can use and you will discover new parts of your district that you never knew existed! I've used freecycle to get nearly all of my baby stuff with a couple of exceptions. I even managed to get all of my reusable nappies from it! :j Saved myself a few quid there!

I also got a breadmaker from it (virtually unused) but mostly I've been concentrating on baby stuff - I've now got enough clothes (all in good nick) to last the baby to 12 months +

You never know what you're going to get until you see it and sometimes the stuff is only fit for the bin, but I've been totally shocked at the quality of some of the stuff that I've been given. I got a vibrating bouncy chair and a steam steriliser that were in virtually new condition.

I've also give LOADS away including our old 28" TV, fridge and freezer which is great because people come to collect it.

Just remember to be careful when you go to collect stuff. We had an incident locally where a woman was locked into a house by a weirdo! She wasn't hurt but she really shouldn't have gone into the house on her own because you don't know that people are who they say they are.

  • I love freecycle...its a fantastic concept my lastest is a fab dresser

    the dresser

and I'm off the collect an edwardian chest of draws & bedside table tonight...I am slowly trying to fill my entire house with recycled furniture and have decided that unless it is essential than I am not going to buy anything new ever again!!!

I also try to give as much as I get...good karma hopefully and sometimes it just good to move things on...

So good luck on your freecycle quest and to be honest I get really excited everytime I get something it has replaced my shopping habit as I realised things don't have to be 'new' just 'new to me' to give me a buzz...
    simplicity is key

  • kThe dresser looks lovely now. My sister did the same. Found one outside a neighbours house and asked if she could have it. She also painted it green. Similar to yours, but not posh paint as she is on benefits. She has also rescued a computer and a tumble drier. She keeps mumbling, "haven't these people ever heard of Freecycle" Though is is better for her if they haven't as she doesn't have any transport.

    wow that dresser is lovely!
i would love to be able to get some new furniture from my group, there is always loads available but i dont have access to a van or anything so i cant :-(

i am on the lookout for a breadmaker and a walker for my ds at the moment.

makes me laugh what some people ask for though- one lady is asking for a dyson in working order- if i had one of those i would keep it for life, not give it away!
