I posted a load of things yesterday, most have gone but one bloke keeps pestering with emails 'can i have the lot' (erm.. NO)
now I have to put a 'taken' post on the freecycle site but then the pest will know i have not got rid of all the stuff.
Just having typed that should I be bothered for the feelings of someone grabby and annoying

i'd email him back and say you don't give stuff to grabbing !!!!!!!!!!s. I do. They soon leave you alone. Or you could just mail him and tell him very politely that you don't want to give him the things. You are within your rights not to

    Hiya Morty
I go in phases with Freecycle - sometimes I get so sick of the grabbers, it puts me off using it. Other times when I've met some nice folk who've been pleased with what I've given away, or I've obtained something useful they were going to chuck out, then I'm happy with it.
Which reminds me - lots of stuff to chuck out so I think I'll put some on the local group.
BTW, I always get a specific date/time frame for folk to collect stuff and make it clear it'll be offered to someone else if they don't show or contact me.

Help i have a awkward freecycler. I posted an offer, got sent an email, emailed back my number. Got another email with her number, so i emailed again to ask her to phone me. Few days later, she emailed again, and emailed yet again over the weekend. I have sent a text today telling her the item is still available to pick up and can she possibly call me so i can give directions and arrange a time.

If she emails me once more, i will scream. I have now wasted 10p on a text message, when she already has my number, and still have the item gathering dust and taking up space.

Also, what do i do with people who dont read the taken posts at all, and email me asking for items which have already been taken? I felt a right idiot having to email back to say its gone.

    zztopgirl -

offer item to the next personal on your list

I'd ignore any emails you recieve after a day of posting a taken message

If you've got a 2nd polite reply that wanted the item I'd give it to them. That's too much messing about in my book. If someone is giving me something for free I'd go out of my way to make thier life easier and not expect them to phone me at thier expense.

As for the others either copy-paste-reply or hope that they are reading them in the order sent and they'll get to your Taken post eventually.;)

I had one other reply for the item, from a typical manner-less freecycler which was deleted. I'll just take it to a charity shop instead, they will be more grateful. Its a girls sleeping bag, but obviously unwanted! Im too nice for my own good sometimes and i know i shouldnt have sent that text.

Speaking of charity shops, im going very o/t here but a local charity has an ebay shop, and they are selling 24 plastic hangers for £6. The kind that high street shops use to hang tops on. I have bags of them that people can have for free!

The people posting on our local freecycle now advertise and give it to the first person who replies, so if your at work during the day, hard luck!
I always wait a couple of days to give people chance to see items etc.
