Great job, a real asset to Freecycle! :T
My comment was a tongue in cheek dig at those who ask for very expensive stuff and then are picky about it. There are LOTS of them
There is a VAST difference between being as generous as you are and blatantly taking the p£ss by asking for expensive items time and again as a lot of free[STRIKE]loaders[/STRIKE] cyclers have been known to in the past.Good Enough Club member number 27(2) AND I got me a stalkee!

We had a request for a park bench a few weeks ago. Nice enough message, but not something people keep lying about the house?!
I am crossing my fingers, so far my experiences have been very good in my group. Though not actually been lucky enough to receive anything.Competition Challenge 2007 - Win your internet fees back in prizes = £349.87/£1560 -

I replied to a freecycle offer for some metal curtain tiebacks saying that I would be interested if they were still available.
I got this reply:
"ye you can have if can collect 2night thanx"
So I replied asking when would be convenient for her, and asked for her address and a contact number incase I got lost.

I didn't get a reply until earlier this afternoon:
"hey what happened to coming for tiebacks?"
As she'd never given me her address, I couldn't go to pick them up! I've sent a polite reply saying that she didn't give me her address, and I've not heard from her since

I've just joined Freecycle, offered a couple of things today, had three responses for the first item, said yes to the first chappie who has now disappeared into the ether and isn't responding....I really wanted to get shot of the items today so I think I've made a rookie error by not establishing that he could collect today before saying yes...
Ahh well, live and learn....I've got two others in line so hopefully I should get shot tomorrow.
I love the concept of it though, I've got loads of stuff I'm trying to clear out, that isn't worth ebay'ing.Piglet

Hi (again) Pitlanepiglet
When I offer something to the group I ask for people to state when they can collect in their reply. Then I then give the collector a time frame within what they've said they can do, ask them to confirm it's OK and say that if it isn't collected by then or if I don't hear from them within 24 hours, it will be offered to the next person.
I got fed up with being given the runaround but if someone really wants something it should go smoothly! Good luck!0 -

I've noticed people doing this, should have researched further before jumping in!
For the record, the chap who was supposed to be coming to collect the first item hasn't shown as yet and the lady I'd promised some books to hasn't responded to confirm when she is coming - I've emailed her to say if she doesn't respond by 9 I'll offer to someone else!!
If chappie doesn't show by 10 I'll offer to the next person!
Live and learn I suppose!Piglet
