Apologies, but can I clarify a few points as I am a true novice all things computer.

I have Telewest, and my broadband run off a Motorolo Modem.

I have one laptop which I would love to use upstairs.

Is this Belkin offer good for me? I want to make sure I buy the right one as my son, when he next visits London can install it for me.

    Thank you all

Does 2 similar posts in 3 minutes constitute spamming? Or 3 in 45 minutes?
Thanks to all who post constructively.

The 1 or 2 attenna thing is due to the version of the F5D7230-4 that has been supplied. I think the newer ones only have one attenna whereas the older ones had two. I don't know if this effects performance, maybe they found that via various tweaks it performed the same.

Yes this is the right one just make sure you have a wireless adapter in your laptop already or you'll have to buy one for about £20.

I have a desktop pc (on ethernet), and one laptop (wireless) connected to a voyager 2000 Wireless modem.

I have one HP 7110 allinone printer which is connected by USB to the desktop. Does anyone know if I can easily conenct my laptop to the printer wirelessly via my desktop and if so how?

    Thanks!

The way I did it was go into printer setup on the computer with the printer attached, went through control panel and printers and other hardware and view installed printers, right-clicked on the icon of the printer in question and selected "Sharing"

I then made sure that the other PC was connected to the network, went through control panel and printers and other hardware again, selected add a printer, and the PC could then see the network printer. I then set it as the default printer

Thanks for this, saves having to buy a printer server

I have the twin antenna model & its the same model number as the Belkin single antenna model, so it must be an upgrade to this model
