Mountainlioness, I share your fears about having a girl. Not because i'm outdoorsey, but because i can't cope with all the faff and lace and bows and feathers, frilly knickers, socks and pink. We didn't find out the sex, but i keep mentioning that non of the above faff will grace my child if it is a girl - trying to reign the MIL in before the event. I don't care if someone bought it, i'm not putting it on my baby. MIL is of the thought that if she has the baby at her house for any reason, she will change it into clothes she deems appropriate. Went through this when DS was a baby, and it used to right Pee me off. She didn't listen to me or OH, when we told her this would not be happening. She has bought some stuff for the baby, toilettries and vests and things, which is very nice of her and i do appreciate it, but she also keeps saying she has bought them for "her child". I'm sorry exactly who is pregnant and carrying the baby!

Mountain don't worry :) I don't "do" pink either - yes Roo has some pink stuff but she only got that because it was in a large bundle I bought off ebay...
I've never been girly either - my fave hobby after horseriding is driving old landrovers off road ;) And fixing them when they break. I'm also a petrol head so hardly girly ;)
Given the choice between going paintballing and shopping I know which I'd pick and I'd come back with bruises ;)
There is also nothing pink in her room - when she's old enough to ask for pink things then I'll probably have to relent - but till then... not a chance! :D

i wanted these trousers http://www.peacocks.co.uk/Womenswear/Maternity/Maternity_Trousers/WHITE_LINEN_MATERNITY_TROUSERS_-35307093.html but they are sold out in my size (10). Can anyone find me similar white trousers? I need them with the little stretchy band at the top as that is what's most comfortable, and I need them for Tuesday when I go on holiday!!!

    :)

I can't help, but... I just wanted to say these exact trousers have been my most FAVOURITE trousers during my pregnancy, they are the most comfy pair of maternity trousers I found and I live in them apart from when they have to be washed. Only thing is, I got them in my normal size and once you've worn them a few hours and they warm up and stretch, they are quite a lot bigger and keep slipping down and I wish I'd got them in the next size down.
  • Good morning everyone

my memory is bad today (tired with lovely blood shot eyes) i am glad everyone's scans went OK. Ickle well done on the twins front. COH hopes it all kicks off soon.

Got my letter today for my job. It says i have been booked in for "New Entrant Screen with the Occupational Health department" (It is NHS clerical)

Are they going find out i am expecting? I am far too early to say something. Help! Any ideas?

Oh Workinmummy - argh to your MIL! When i knew i was having a girl, i was determined that no lace would touch my girl etc. i dont think lace has, but she is the pinkest girl i know. Maybe because she has 2 older brothers that tell her their stuff is boys colours, pink stuffs for you.
But despite that she can giver her brothers what for and isnt a delicate princess - most of the time!

ML - I think ur reasons for wanting a boy might have been the same as OH - he almost bottled it yesterday and I know it was the thought of finding out it was a girl. Not that he doesn't want a girl eventually but I know he's thinking about football and 'boy' stuff.

My sister is a tombuy (9), she's got rugby and football shirts but also loves HSM and Hannah Montana! She lives on a farm, has a pony so is used to get muddy and mucking the horses out.

Everyone in work is very pleased - I have a photo but you can't see much as baby fills the screen. One girl is adamant she can see the winky but I can't on the photo. I'll try and upload pic and possibly a bump one if I can get one!

I'm starving - got a free lunch today but it's not here yet! Hurry up!!!

o just reminded me i knew a little boy who loved to clean hoover and wear his mum shoes ... zoe just looked at him like what the hell is wrong with you :rotfl: x
are you talking about my son there? :rotfl:
He loves his mini dyson and pink tea set.

see ML Chris may be a loud and confident boy but don't let him get paint on his hands coz he cries  the little wuss :p

  • I glad i am not the only one who doesn't do pink and is a bit of a tomboy! I saw a very cute baby girl on the bus but she was dressed head to toe in pink frills and was sitting in a pink buggy! mmm not my cup of tea but each to their own.
  • Oh and i heard somewhere that at the beginning of the 20th century is pink for boys and blue for girls. As they saw pink as strong colour and blue as a softer colour!
