Just told hubby I was going to see if dominos would deliver a lunch time special thinking he'd raise objection... He just said 'ok, if that's what you fancy' I was only joking... But do really fancy one now! Think they'll deliver a 2 quid pizza? lol
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Actually you are more likely to need medical intervention if u are induced than if you waited until past 14days over ;)

I know Sami, that's why I said I'd rather risk further medical intervention.

If my pregnancy had been completely straightforward I may be more inclined... but Gestational Diabetes, Breech Presentation, Small BPD measurements, Late engagement (for a first timer)... all adds up to me wanting desperately to be somewhere where if things do start to go wrong they can wheel me in to where they keep the knives as quickly as possible. :o

I may not agree with some of the daft meddling and the demographic boxes that medical staff and consultants love to put us pregnant ladies in throughout pregnancy, but I have absolute faith that they would do everything they can to keep my baby and me as safe as possible.

I think Sami is right, as always!
  • hugs to Sugarspun. I'm with Sami on the intervention - you could go a little longer and see if baby comes out naturally, especially as that sounds like it's what you'd want?

    Thanks Skintchick :)

To be honest, all I really really want at this point is to hold my baby and to see her completely safe and sound. Everything else is fading in significance into fluffy natural labour wishes... I said a couple of days ago that us pregnant ladies have a serious design flaw what with the lack of double glazing in our bellies.

I admire all you ladies with the strong desire to have your natural births/pregnancies and agree that some of the time, the interventions we endure throughout are unecessary. Like I said, perhaps if everything had been more straightforward for me up till now I'd be less flexible to what the NHS decide to deem is best for me and my baby. (Although to be fair, I've been grateful for the GTTs and extra scans which have picked up problems which have been dealt with fabulously by the NHS).

Thanks for the links - they're super interesting!

Thanks also MM, super glad to hear the gel alone, did it for you - actually that was a tonic reading that - cheers!

The best way to get a good labour is for mum to be happy and relaxed with her choices, so as long as you are happy you're doing the right thing then that will ensure that you are in the best state of mind for bringing your little one into the world.

I've had a few worries with this pregnancy so I understand where you're coming from, we just react in different ways as I prefer to be away from the doctors!

    good luck with everything :A

Excellent post there skintchick - I agree there are no wrong or wrongs when it comes to many aspects of pregnancy/labour, and ultimately you have to do what's best for you and bubs!

I've been lurking today cos I'm feeling sorry for myself...I think my cold is starting up again :( I knew the antibiotics hadn't totally worked, but I though they might have given me a push to get over this!!!

Anyway, hugs to all those in need - Shelvis, Mrs Moc, Krystal for the stupid cupboard :D any anyone I've missed.

    Happy Birthday Beanie!

LABOUR VIBES for anyone that wants them - there are too many to remember! I think we are going to have an influx of birth stories before too long :j

That needs 'sticky-ing' in super huge purple bubble font to the top of every new preg thread and EDD list.

Well put (for a pregnancy addled brain!)
