And Professor Charlotte Wright, of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, which helped design the charts, added: "We realise in retrospect that we have probably been worrying mother unnecessarily about their baby's weight."
just took them nr 10yrs to work that out!!

Right I have had to abandon the call to Vodafone now... the battery on my landline gave up at 110 minutes... Called the general service number who have left a message for them to call me ASAP (it will be in 24 hours madam... "24 hours when you're nearly 39 weeks pregnant is not really good enough... my policy says I should have a replacement in 24 hours, not a call back!")
Soon as it's charged a bit again I'm calling their main line again and complaining till someone either deals with me or agrees to cancel the remainder of my contract so I can leave for another provider and refund me all my insurance payments this far... I'm NOT amused!

God Mrs T, you must be raging!! If I get past 15 mins on hold, I find I have the dilema that I don't want to abandon the call as I have spent time holding and could be nearly there and I don't want to join the back of the queue again!

Tip - I called Vodafone last week and got through to someone straight away. I was cancelling the contract. If you are cancelling the contract and they are going to lose money, some companies have these calls prioritised so I would select those options. You might not get the correct department, but you should get to speak to someone straight away. And quite often it's the same people answering all of the calls!

Mrs T .... sorry, I haven't read back to see why you're calling Vodafone but I think you mentioned that it's an 0870 number? Have you checked on "saynoto0870" to see if there's an alternate, regional (or maybe even free) number?

(apologies if preaching to the converted!)

There isn't a cheaper number sadly but to be honest that doesn't worry me overly - (maybe it helps when you work for the company providing your landline? ;) ) - I did call cancellations and they are the ones who said someone would call me back in 24 hours... not acceptable in my view... tempting to pretend to be in labour lol but doubt that would get them moving any quicker - hang up on me maybe lol
