Meal ideas with no oven? :)

Wow that halogen oven sounds great! So can you do wedges, Yorkshire puds, roast potatoes etc in there?
You can and bake bread and cakes too...and there are sites and recipes books that explain how to do it..."A government afraid of its citizens is a Democracy. Citizens afraid of government is tyranny!" ~Thomas Jefferson

Hello,
My oven is goosed. I have needed an entire new kitchen since we bought this house 2 years ago. I'm not going to replace the oven until I get a new kitchen installed so in the meantime I'm using my hobs, my microwave and my slow cooker.
Any good meal suggestions please? We are family of four, meat eaters
Many thanks
£30 will get you a halogen oven. Brilliant invention:D
I never use my 'proper oven' these days.I'm not that way reclined
Jewelry? Seriously? Sheldon you are the most shallow, self-centered person I have ever met. Do you really think that another transparently-manipu... OH, IT'S A TIARA! A tiara; I have a tiara! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me! Put it on me!0 -
I am lucky to be getting a new fitted kitchen in a few weeks time - unlucky that I won't have a kitchen for 8 days. My son has aspergers and likes the plan of meals on the pin board well in advance (obviously you cant change that!!) - Ok, so on the plus side - I have a standard remoska, a slow cooker and a microwave - oh and a toaster - a freezer full of meat - good store cupboards - downside - no inspiration!! I'm ashamed to say the only things I have done in my remoska are a whole chicken, sausages, and chicken breasts - and yet ironically I love cooking!!
I was thinking I could maybe start jacket potatoes off in the microwave and then finish them in the remoska? for an easy lunch. Whole chicken can of course be on the menu, I usually brown meats on the hob first before using the slow cooker, can they be put in directly??3
Any ideas/ suggestions would be gratefully received.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0 -
There is a thread for remoska some where on here, but I'm rubbish at link's, but from what I'v seen on there it's seem's you can use it like an oven.£71.93/ £180.000

You can use your slow cooker without browning the meat first - I often do. You do lose a bit of flavour by doing that but food still tastes OK.
You can also do things like beans on toast, toast the bread and heat the beans in the microwave. Good standby things for lunches. Leftovers are another good option for lunches, just make sure you cook enough of your evening meal to ensure there are enough for lunch the following day.

I feel your pain! I went through this at the end of last year, but we only had a slow cooker, a rice cooker and a combi microwave at hand.
We had rather more takeaways than I'd care to admit, and some lovely friends invited us round for a meal on about 4 of the 8 weekends we were without facilities. My DD is also autistic and likes what she likes.
Things which worked well for us:
sausages cooked in the slow cooker in gravy, with supermarket mash done in the microwave. We had that about once a week for each of the 8 weeks
Various curries and stews done in the slow cooker with rice in the rice cooker (but you can also get microwave rice)
ready made Soups done in microwave with fresh bread
Toasted sandwiches with chips (we have an actifry but you can also get microwave chips)
Baked potatoes
Ummm - we also had a lot of failed meals too. It was quite a narrow and humdrum meal planning time I have to confess.0 -
