Good luck, I'm dying to hear how it turned out. :) I reserved one of those breadmakers yesterday but rather than go into town especially to pick it up I've despatched someone else who was going anyway, so I won't get it for another day or so. I can't wait to start!

OK, breads ready, tastes ok too! Turned out better than expected and the mixing arm came out easier than I thought!

The loaf didn't rise to the top of the pan, and is a little bigger in height and width that a Flora margerine tub (see pic)

I've been wanting a breadmaker for a long time but I thought a decent one cost about £50. Is this some special offer or something?

I sometime hand make 'em instead, but its time consuming.

Can you tell me please what volume that flora tub is? Also in the picture the bread doesnt look very "fluffy", how was it in real life?

    Im soo excited!

yes, thats one the but I they also sell this one for £26.99 - http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/4227315/Trail/C%24cip%3D43106.Kitchen%2Band%2Blaundry%3EC%24cip%3D43206.Small%2Bkitchen%2Bappliances%3EC%24cip%3D43213.Breadmakers.htm

The bread was lovely, the texture was just like any home made bread I'd had before and would taste lovely in sandwiches - some friends have been round and had a slice each with butter on - the verdict - we'll they going to buy the same model for their "bottom draw"

Definately a great buy - I'm gonna make some bread cakes on Monday and might possibley even try a cake!

The £14.99 comes with a 2lb horizontal loaf tin. It also has a timer so we can set it before we go to bed or work so we have fresh bread when we get up or get home from work. It also has a setting to make bread in 1 hour!!!

    best £14.99 I've ever spent!:T

I bought this (£14.99 Bread Maker from Argos) about a week ago. Done several loafs with it with good result and can only recommend it.Me, my kids and husband are well happy with the new bread. Good stuff :j
  • Since finding my cooking feet (is there such a thing?) I'm starting to catch onto this cooking lark. I've just made a stew in the slow cooker, managed to operate my food processor and I've read with interest about home made bread. Thanks for the info and the pics Leni, when I'm next in town I'll buy one of those breadmakers!
