Mornin' all! Wee bit woozy from last night so excuse me.

Called Barclaycard just now to say "Yup close the account I can't be trusted with it behind the bar" and nice retentions lady reduced my APR by 3% to leave the a/c open.

Retentions deals FTW!!!
Well done.......... Alright for some!

It's because of my inadvertent (yeah inadvertent my a**) spending behind the bar last night. Didn't want the temptation.

Although now that I've checked everything it turns out I didn't use my credit card atall... it was all out of my bank account... so I'm not as reckless as I thought :D

... I have a wallet full of change to pay back in now :p
LOL - I have my drinking card what is basically the card I transfer X to before I go out so that I can only spend that amount! Does the trick aslong as thats the only card you take out with ya :T

When your drunk, drink lots of water before you dive into bed. That ALWAYS works for me and leaves me with absolutely no hangover in the morning.

I usually wake up about 6am the morning after, absolutely bursting for a toilet, but it does the trick.

I normally take a couple of ibuprofen with a pint of water when I get in, as you say works a treat... Didn't make it to the medicine cupboard last night tho... :rotfl:

• I recently applied and got declined for an Aqua Card.

They said :-

Unfortunately on this occasion your application has fallen outside of our standard criteria, and as a result we are unable to offer you a facility with us at this time.

But I though being Aqua was sub-prime then their criteria would be low? I already have Next and Vanquis accounts - so I'm not entirely uncredit worthy.

Furthermore :-

You can be assured that this decision was in no way based on any adverse information located on your credit file, and will not have a negative affect on your future credit rating.

Hmmm ... so why have I been declined ?

And with another search on my experian credit file, how can they claim that this will not have a negative impact ??

Any thoughts ?

With Aqua, don't you have to answer a series of pre-application questions? Most likely your answers turned you down and as a result you would not have been credit searches.

Aqua Pre-application questions:

Have you ever:
- been declared bankrupt?
- received a CCJ?
- received a default notice on a credit account?

How long ago was this?
Amount?
