I sent that appeal letter off to HSBC today (It's been sitting around for a while, I just forgot about it). :)

Why are you sending a appeal letter to HSBC when you have told them that you want to close your account and are switching to Natwest.

I went into Natwest branch today and asked if I could sign the forms there instead of posting. They brought up my details and said it was declined due to previous account behaviour...

The only account I had with them was one when I was 13, which I remember being kept at £0 for a few years...

I still can't get over the fact you were prepared to make such a silly move in the first place mate! Did you add that para to your appeal about behaviour score and the contact name and address I gave you?
    :o 2010 - year of the troll :o

Sorry to hear that and think that you should just stick with HSBC.
  • I agree, stick with HSBC. If you switch banks, only use Barclays or First Direct. I talk from experience as I have banked with nearly all of them apart from lloyds TSB, However many friends of mine have diched Lloyds due to poor Customer Service. I Found Natwest the worst bank out of the lot and I reclaimed over £2,000.00 worth of charges and I only banked with them for 3 months.
