I'm paying my Vanquis balance off tomorrow, which stands at £320. Would it be best to close it or keep it?

I have no intentions of using it again.

Close it for sure. Looks better on your file and at that rate, and with access to other credit source, it is just a noose hanging around you neck!

Someone posted this question on the bank accounts thread a few days ago.

Your line of thought is correct.

They automatically issue you an account number and sort code when the CRA's are offline and carry out further checks during the day

Good luck, hope you get it because I want one!

I think your are talking about me !! They declined me eventually

strange this whole credit rating system is, can get a £8.2K OD :D facility with Lloyds Tsb with a £250 cheque card but not a current account with halifax

Due to credit scoring. There is no wait before reapplying.

You'll find with Halifax there is mate! If you make several app's in a short period they will get declined. By that, let me make this clear - if you are declined an account you should wait 90 days before reapplying.

If you get accepted for account, well that is different now isn't it..... ;)

    Summary:
Accepted for account - No wait time to reapply
Declined for account - 90 day wait time 'recommended'

Want to elaborate - could maybe help with the defaults if they were unlawfully added....

Post over here if you need help: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1674391&page=57

Appropriately enough the last post is someone thanking me for getting a default removed hahahahah :rotfl:

    Morning mate,

It has been esculated from branch to level 2?

Also the woman from the branch called yesterday. She has been on annual leave however the U/W called the branch and said that the auto accept offer had now ended so she couldn't appeal on that ground however she should put the app through again and appeal and in the notes include the U/W name that left a message for her?

She didn't understand why we had to do this however she couldn't call the U/W as they have no numbers for them!!:mad:

Will see the outcome? Not that confident
