what a muppet! You hate the shysters as much as I do then you go and pay for that rubbish mate? No wonder you're off to school again - I suggest a crash course in common-sense for starters......

In my effort to get every penny I can in a savings account this year, I just applied for a Halifax Reward Current Account again. I applied a month or two ago and was rejected instantly. I just applied now, and it said 'Thankyou for completing the application. You account is now opening. Your account number and sort code are XXXXX'

But underneath it seas 'What we will do next'' and then ''We need to carry out some further checks on your application. We'll do this as quickly as we can and send you a letter within 7 days, confirming whether your application has been successful''

I'm guessing this message has only been given as its 2am and the CRA are offline. They're just going to do a credit check when they come back online and decline?

When I login to internet banking with Halifax, it has the account, but has 'Application Decision' underneath which seas ''Sorry, we are unable to display the relevant information. Sometimes when customers open a new account we are unable to match this to your customer record. Please call the Online Helpdesk on 0845 602 0000 or try again later. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.''

    Have I been accepted/declined?

Someone posted this question on the bank accounts thread a few days ago.

Your line of thought is correct.

They automatically issue you an account number and sort code when the CRA's are offline and carry out further checks during the day

Good luck, hope you get it because I want one!

Was it because you applied within the last 6 months?

just been into halifax to show id and pay £100 in to activate my ultimate reward account.

she didnt understand the id request either,as i have a bos card,so she didnt bother.

she told me not to take the money back out untill after minnight or my cards wont come.

i questioned her on this,as i didnt intend taking it out again.it turns out alot of people are taking the account out and just running money through to get the bennefits.she almost expected it,lol.

Due to credit scoring. There is no wait before reapplying.
