Look at the APR though - arghhhhh frightening!:eek::eek:

Has your Vanquis rate gone up? It seems it common. Mine hasnt on my statement yet but I wouldnt fancy having the card if it goes up above 39.9% as that is high as it is.

Well I suppose its better to set your sights high. I just cant wait to get back onto mainstream. Even sub-prime is nice when you have gone a few years without any credit.

I agree mate, I only started credit in january and already have 3 mainstream plus 2 cheque cards - would have settled for one cheque card and no credit back then. Now i'm just getting bored and want bigger / better! Obviously the down side is the amount of searches, that is what is stopping me right now - only the searches (Experian).

Yep, shame I can't spend on the card though. I have a nice lovely limit and I can't touch it because of the interest.

Have you spoken to them about it? I would want an explanation of why they have put it up. I could understand if I was a bad customer but to put it so high without a reason seems wrong.

It's actually a blessing that my Vanquis interest rates are so high, it's stopping me from maxing out my card, which I would have done long ago if it was any lower.

So I'm not really complaining, Vanquis are doing me a favour!

Ermmm, men with plastic is not the same as men with money! Although, when Piers Morgan interviewed the rich when he done the Sandbanks thing not one of the rich people featured had cash on them - all plastic. Like they said, we don't use cash - we don;t spend small amounts! arrogant rich so-and-so!

Actually, I haven't but considering sending a letter regarding the recent increase. I'm an excellent customer, I think. I've never missed any payments on any credit agreement and always pay triple the minimum payment. No defaults, CCJ's or anything else.

EDIT: I just remembered, I have called them once asking for my rates lowered and was told it was done automatically over time.

Yeah thats what is stopping me from using my subprime cards really. I am only spending what I am sure I can easily repay each month so no more than a few hundred on each.

If I had a better rate I probably would treat myself and pay it off overtime just could not justify it at nearly 40% though thats for sure.
