I just noticed the income requirements for all of the Capital One cards except the classic card.

They want you to be earning £20,000 and be a homeowner. Have they just increased this requirement? I could swear it was £10,000 last week. Pretty high requirements I think.

£20k isn;t that much though, surely most people earn this now? If not sorry! Just thought it was a normal range for wages - it would be in London that's for sure!

I only earn £1 a day and got a citicard which says £20k as well :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

sorry, what I meant is do about £1 of work a day!

Oh! Well I've never had a job earning £20k, but I suppose being a full-time student for the last few years, can't exactly work full-time. :p

morning! im a newbie here. I have a poor credit score due to having no credit at all in my name!!! Any way i applied for an accessory credit card online as was accepted. I got the card and pin through the post £750 limit! I have been using this card for over a week and even abroad. This morning went to use in a petrol station and it was declined???? I have rang them and they said after further checks i dont reach their criteria!! What a cheek!! Do you think i should appeal this?

Oh No!!! that means this could happen to me, just got accepted online for FlyBe yesterday, waiting for card now.... what a bummer if they change their minds. was going to transfer my small balances on my Vanquis, Cap1 and Aqua to my FlyBe for the 0% interest then pay em off, won't be transfering anything to it if I get it just in case.

I've just done something i normally don't do.

I've just rang to cancel my three contract

I did the same yesterday but was offered a great deal but decided after thinking overnight that i didn't need it.

I phoned this afternoon and got a young girl trying to get me to keep the contract i kept repeating that i just wanted to cancel the contract. I repeated this 6-7 times each time she would try to better the last offer. After the 7th time i just stated i wasn't being rude but i just wanted to cancel the contract. She then put me on hold two minutes later she said im sorry you'll have to phone back in an hour our systems are down. I was so angry and asked why she had kept me on the phone for 15 minutes if the system was down. I asked for her name and told her i would complain. I won't but now i feel so guilty for saying that. thinking back she was probably only doing what three instruct her to do but i got so frustrated. I know i'm being a sap but i do hope she doesn't worry about me phoning and complaining.
  • Hi guys a newbie here i have been reading on the forum now for a wee while now and i thought i would join.
My story is i got into debt problems with my bank could not afford the repayments ended up going on a protected trust deed have been debt free now since april 2008 thats when my trust deed ended.
To cut a long story short i have a normal bank account with overdraft and a mobile contract and i am on the voters roll,i applied for a capital one credit card and was declined.
Do i have to wait till my 3 sattisfied defaults come off my credit report before i can get one i just want to improve my rating, thanks for any help.Ps i have applied for a vanquis card today probably get declined for that as well.

IME a Vanquis card is easier to get than a CapOne card. Wait for the decision of that before applying for anything else.

Capital One have now launched their new updated card designs on their website. I have an account with them, so i might order a new replacement. This is for both, Platinum and Classic cards. https://www.capitalone.co.uk

By the way I had an unexpected increase of £1,000 to £2,000 CL yesterday with my capital one platinum account. I am delighted...as my other credit card has actually been reduced several months ago (nationwide classic credit card).

How are you all the usual suspects? All well and good? I have been blown away having to look after my newborn son. I have now got two boys, of which one is a toddler! It has been very hard over the past few weeks (had to move to a bigger property to accommodate the newborn, but it is now almost sorted)...so hopefully i will have more time to contribute to the forums!
