I havn't posted for a long time, but have been following this thread since it started.
I thought it would be nice to let everyone know my progress. Thanks to this thread I applied last year and got a vanquis card with a £1500 limit and a cap one card with a £1600 limit. My starting limits for both cards were £1000 and are building nicely. Then back in April this year I was approved for a 10k car loan (my last default had just fallen off my file). I still have another year to go before I have completely clean credit file and still have some late mortgage payments and late payment marks on my file from just over 5 years ago.
I have been itching to apply for another card so this morning I applied for an JD Williams accessory card and got an instant acceptance "Congratulations! Your application has been accepted subject to your signing and returning one copy of the documentation we will send you." This is the first instant acceptance I have had so I am really pleased!:D, but I also wondered what sort of credit limits they hand out as I would like to do a balance transfer soon and it is quite big!!.
I had applied for a flybe credit card just over six months ago but got an instant decline then (probably due to a satisfied default on my file).
My next step tomorrow is to apply for an MBNA credit card as they search experian and I believe sygma checks equifax. I applied 6 months ago but was turned down due to an "arrangement to pay" on my file, whcih when I checked out my file was listed incorrectly. This data has now been corrected through the credit agencies - I should have appealed on the decision by MBNA at the time but never mind.
I will then do no more applications till october/november

I have a question...i've recently applied for and been decilned a vanquis card. I've also applied for a capital one card too. To be honest my credit rating is that bad i doubt i'll get that either....I just want to know what my next steps should be to try and get back on the credit ladder...should I just stop trying for another year or two or should i try something else....any advice would be handy...0

I've just posted this on the main board but havent really got an answer as such
Hi
Both my husband and myself want to apply for the same credit card
if both cc apps are done on the same day will this be a negative for either or both of us ?
we do not have a joint bank account although we do share 2 building society savings account
would we be classed as two indivduals or would one app have an impact on the other
thanks0 -
good evening to all0
