Golden R&R was for example.
Buy a phone priced at £74.99 but you are charged £75
Therefore with R&R you kept the phone, and got your £75 back.
But, cs failed to mark your receipt.
Therefore, you can return ( perhaps to another store) the phone with the 'virgin' pure receipt and say you misunderstood your daughter, you have got the wrong model.....blah blah
..... and get a refund of £75.
As to whether it it a no no..... is down to your morals, and your nerve.
In the R&R days there was as much heated debate ( often caused by Tesco trolls and possibly our friend Kevin) about the rights and wrongs of R&R and Golden R&R.
It is up to you.

Gosh, memories!
I certainly endorse what thelurch has said on previous pages, and I speak as one of the R&R "crazy gang" of 2006 who went across the UK picking up free Xbox 360s from one store to the next.
Dealing with Tesco (both at store level and at Dundee level) was was like dealing with the Corleone family in 1930s Manhattan, and I doubt that things have changed much today.
When things got really nasty I took them to court over Mr Kelly's decision to wipe out my Clubcard balance as "punishment". They enlisted Weightmans Solicitors to defend the case but made an out of court settlement at the last minute.
If you're the type who's up for a fight (like I was at the time), then by all means fill your boots and play the DTD/glitch game to the max, but you must be prepared for one dirty trick after another from Tesco. They're bullies, pure and simple, and as others have already said, they WILL use your private Clubcard data to their advantage, however they see fit.
Incidentally Mr Kelly still visits MSE from time to time under one of his usernames. He was last logged in on 23-06-2011 at 7:09 PM. How do I know? Because I still have one of his messages in my PM box from October 2006 where he befriended me for information that he would later use against me (albeit unsuccessfully).
Nice to see some of the old timers on here, by the way, hope you're all well.
Thought it only a matter of time before you would post on here, good to hear from you, hope things are well and as always some very wise words :-)
I don't think there should be a separate thread for this type of advice as it is actually a misprices and discussions thread after all.
And also this thread will quieten down as there will be times when months go by and no one finds anything in store, or god forbid tesco get on top of their price integrity so there are very little dtd opportunities. It goes full circle.
We just need ledhead to post now :-)0 -

If you mean to now get dtd and then take the item back for a refund, if the receipt hasn't been marked then it should be fine. I would advise not going to the same SA that you had dtd from though, perhaps another store.0 -

Thank you :A
I read the old thread and was wondering what was the come out...
I gues my blackberry cases are going back then... :rotfl:But I'll keep the rest as I kind of need them... If I had to pay for them I'd probably buy something else, but if they are for free anyway they will be used(however I'll have to think again if I'll play with the megablocks... :rotfl:)0 -

ThanksI have 5 stores to choose from... In one I very rarely find dtds and they have nice CS so I'll keep that one for returns... Won't be too many as I want to keep most items but the occasional one I get just for my "dtd fix" can go back...

Not sure how old they can be but address is
Tesco Clubcard

You can send photocopies of your reciepts or if you send originals they 'say' they will send them back?

Obviously don't try this with a receipt which had been written on by customer services, as they will realise what you are up to, but you should be able to return the item if they do not mark your receipt.
As has been said, that's to do with morals and let's not get into that debate as it always ends up with arguments :-)0 -

Remember that although as the blue board states 'this does not affect your statutory rights' if you try to return things that you have had dtd and the receipt has been marked at the time of dtd you will raise your profile greatly.0
