Tesco even dedicated one person at head office to deal with major R&R claims like the free psp and xbox360 consoles. People got refered to him and he would call people back late at night intimidating people.

Whilst on the theme - hence why no one knows where I am, or which stores I frequent.
Even when posting glitches or DTD I will never reveal the store name, or city..... nor do I give a blow by blow account of he said this, she said that....
Doesn't take a genius for Tesco to find out who The Old Bag actually is if I say I was in the Leeds branch, got a TV on DTD with an overcharge of £1,324.68 and the cs was a red-headed Trout with specs.

Don't panic (Mr Mannering), keep it light, keep it cool, be discrete. Play the game for the long run.

Amen to that. When I first registered on here, my user name contained enough of my real name for it to be easy to identify me. After finding those R&R threads and reading more or less the same advice as other familiar "names" have recently posted, I changed it, and have never referred to my location, stores or any other subsequent significant details on any thread on this forum.

I too never use a CC for Dtd (scroll down and read "Privacy Issues" at the bottom of this ;) : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Scoring-Points-Continues-Customer-Loyalty/dp/074943578X) for those reasons - once you use it for a transaction, it can be tracked - and the t&c's of it will allow Tesco to do so if they have, or are given a reason to look.

How any of you play the game is completely down to you and who am I to preach, but if you are going to turn up regularly at CSD after being overcharged on those 14 razors you've just bought, then at least you'll do it with your eyes open and have thought through the cover story of needing that many for the Charity Beard Shave Off at your local Bridge Club tomorrow night!! :)

Went for a walk around tonight to kill time before picking up DD and we found this phone with an out of date SEL, offer ended 1/5/2011! SEL £49.97 but going through at £59.97 (checked on scanner). Not an excellent DTD but a good discount if youre after that particular phone. This is Brislington if anyone wants it.

Does any kind person have the address for sending old receipts off to claim the ClubCard points? And does anyone know how 'old' the receipts can be?

Think you only have 14 days. Can't you take them in store to be added but they only do 2 per day. :(

No, you can definitely claim for older receipts if you post them to ClubCard HQ. No idea how old though.

Ah the good old h&b voucher days, combined with vouchers from the quit smoking kits = free toiletries and loads of lovely points. Think its well over 2 years now. Still using mouthwash and deodorant from then!
    :D

Couldn't agree more with you and FloFlo. What about the shower gel, hand wash, shampoo/conditioner, sun cream (or did that get used on the hols?icon12.gif) or toothpaste - any left? How many still have the slim fast? Wonder if Leadhead (think that was his name) is still around.

Nobody is saying NOT to go for DTD, or to stock up on glitches.
Over the years I have lost count of how many R&R, DTD and glitches I have had.
All we are advising is to keep a low profile.
Do not argue the toss for half an hour at cs, demand to see the store manager and then phone HO..... for the sake of 4 glasses.

Because if the next day you get the chance of a phone... and it is the same staff on the desk, and the same manager on duty, they may well remember you.

Of course get every DTD you can, even asking when not offered, but keep it all nice and calm and low key...... you will be reaping the benefit for years, or as long as DTD lasts;)

Some of these bigger stores have such a large number of CS staff and duty managers, they will not be able or willing to keep track of everyone who gets DTD...... so you can retain your anonymity, and no one will be any the wiser.

But if you create a great scene, they will remember you for quite a while, and they may even keep records - you name, club card details, credit card etc.... just to flag you up.
I am sure I remember a few R&Rers who after several run in with Tesco, under the FOI act asked to see all the records Tesco had on them..... and were absolutely horrified:eek:
Just remember they also usually have cctv of their car park, as well as within the store.
Big brother Tesco is watching you.

Keep it low key, go to different stores, at different times and give them as little information about YOU as possible.
Hence my advice re credit and club cards.
Not always possible of course if the DTD item is nice and expensive.
But if they have no other record of your name being involved in DTD, then everything should be cool.
If they have records of you claiming DTD twice a week for 3 months, and they you hit the jackpot with a plasma TV.... they might be a tad reluctant to play ball and believe you are a professional.

Anyone being nosy (as I am!!) about the "dark times" during the r & r days, and some of the things that went on, check out website http://www.freewebs.com/sql-provida/csresponse.html
it has a photo of kevin kelly (seductivly sucking his finger!!) and lists of what he supposedly did. Happy reading campers :)

Thanks princesslou for posting that link, I forgot about that site, I remember a disgruntled user on here setting it up I believe ?

There also used to be a site where someone had designed their own SELs which looked like official SELs but they actually said things like " check your receipt, this store frequently overcharges people" they were available to download and print so people could subtley put them round their store. Personally I felt that a step too far but very funny

Darn - that's weird. 1.5 hours ago it was scanning at £9.99. Are you in England princesslou? Sometimes there are price differences between countries...

Maybe some more details on the white are in order. It was the First Cape Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2010 Barcode 6 009808 750173. Maybe give it a scan beforehand if it's not working for everyone. HTH

There are a few varieties of the First Cape wines, so perhaps the ones princesslou's OH got where different to the ones you had.

There is also a discrepancy in prices and offers in Express store to Extras, so it's a possibility that the store types were different.

Tesco *used* to be relatively slow to correct glitches, in that they usually were corrected in an over night refresh, but the recent correction of the beer multibuy glitch, where the 2 for £16 beers were scanning through at £4, rather than taking £4 off seemed to be corrected bang on 12:30 nationwide from what I read so its a possibility that they are now able to react more quickly to any "issues" they read on public, free to air, forums, so no such issue here then.....
