Just out of interest does anyone know if express stores give DTD?
Yes, you have to be careful with Express stores, as their pricing is different from other Tesco stores. Normally they are more expensive, but now and again there are cases like this where they are quite a bit cheaper.
However, DTD certainly does apply in Tesco Express stores. They should have the 'if things don't add up' promise on a sign near the checkouts somewhere.

Yeh, my hope was that they would go through at £4.49 or higher.
Did have a look for the promise sign but couldn't see it anywhere.Handle every stressful situation like a dog.
If you can't eat it or play with it ....... just pee on it and walk away.0 -
I guess no one has been overcharged on their till receipts recently then, hmm? How long do you think before they stop dtd on overpricing too?:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Hi, bought a pair of girls white and pink sport shoes priced at £4 but they went through at £5, this was from a Tesco Homestore. Went to customer services and looked for the double the difference sign but there wasn't one just notices up about how to return items, etc. The assistant just gave me a £1 refund, I didn't have the nerve to ask for double difference as there wasn't a sign. Should there be a sign? Is there anything I can do to claim the other £1? I know it's only a £1 but its the first DTD I've ever had and I'm pretty disappointed not to have got it!0

When we checked this out there was a huge panel on the wall at customer services stating their price promise - one of those were if you are over charged from the price stated you'll be refunded DTD! Sorry you didn't get it0

Ring up Head office Customer services on 0800 505 555
Explain what happened and tell them you didn't get DtD, seeing as it's Tesco policy.
You hopefully will get a gift card through the post and an apology.
Then come back on here and let us know what happened after the call.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Tampax compac (the orange ones) still have a SEL of £2 but going thru at £2.99 a box, so £1.98 DTD for each box.
I add three or four bozes each time I go shopping and its been that way for about 3 weeks now..It aint over til I've done singing....0 -
Tampax are one of the few things that you can have too much of though. You only use a certain amount! I estimate I have 3 years worth from when they were £1 somewhere last year. Chucked in the boxes and only later thought whoops!0

sorry to go off topic, but if you have excess stock you do not want or can use, then why not do shoeboxes at Christmas for those in the armed forces abroad? the ladies most certainly appreciate the luxury brands0 -

Thanks for this Shirley - managed to pick up 4 of these at Kingston Park today as I am visiting Tyneside at the moment - went to CS and girl got calculator out and said 'there's the £1 we overcharged plus £1 as we pay double the difference'. I was walking away when I realised she had done it wrong, so went back and queried it and she said 'what have I done?' I explained and she got another pound coin out of the till and almost threw it at me. I again explained that I had been overcharged £2 so she got another pound coin out of the till, threw it on the counter and turned away   I shouted 'thanks very much' and left the store, happy with my purchase and not in the least surprised by the girl's attitude
By the way, they had plenty of the glasses on the shelf, but being away from home, could only manage the 4 which I will give to my neice up hereMr 3Dogs 3-7-12
