Tesco misprices and discussion thread 11

As a starter I had a very good DTD at Tesco a few days ago:
Linoti Pinot Grigio SEL £3.99 scanned at £7.99, purchased 6 bottles and charged £47.94. Should have been £23.94 so I was overcharged £24 so after claiming DTD refunded £48 and walked away with 6 bottles of wine.
The SEL was out of date but Tesco will honour as there is a Tesco Promise board located near customer service. The is a paragraph that states " if we charge you more than the price displayed we will refund you double the difference "
:T, what an easy £48!!! I'l check my receipt every time now! Thanks!I love the person I loved.0 -

Haven't looked through previous posts, so if I am duplicating sorry!
Nintendo DS game Pokemon black and Pokemon white on display stand price £24.70scanned at £29.70 I presume the three day event that it was on offer has now finished. Overcharge £5.00, £10.00 DTD
Sales assistant removed display labels in Eastfield way Inverness, Tomnahurich Street priced correctly only one left is Inshes didn't manage to get up and have a gander. Good Luck.*SIGH*0 -
Just a little one....
In the toy sale aisle soft toy hand puppets in a variety of animals - I chose dog and teddy. Price on SEL £3 and on display box £3 or buy 2 for £5. No discount applied, and DTD cheerfully given. Staff took them out of the boxes, but might be worth looking to see if they are still in the display box in your local.0 -

I recently bought some Anti-Limescale tablets (like Calgon) for my washer - they'd reduced the size from 22gms to 16 gms for the same price.
I'm sure they're doing this with other own brands - look for things like shrinking toilet rolls (take a cm off the width and they save a fortune!!) and weights in standard measures (like half litre 500ml) being sold as 450ml or even 400ml.
What a con! It's the pound shop for me from now on... :-(
Beware of the £ shops. They are well known for selling smaller items. Toothpaste is a classic example - often quite a bit smaller tube inside the box than you'd get at the supermarkets. There was an item on The One Show years ago about it0 -
in my tesco, there is no sign saying price promise DTD behind the CS counter,
is this a nationwide policy , would they quibble if there was no sign??
just checking but never had to use it...yetGRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED

Is there not a big blue sign on the wall? It is quite a long way down on the sign and not always particularly obvious! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

yup it says price promise, it says double the difference in the sentence, it's not exactly highlighted0
