Except that you have to watch the pound shop - the way they make their money is by having everyone assume they are cheap, when a lot of things can be bought for less than £1 elsewhere! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

I recently bought some Anti-Limescale tablets (like Calgon) for my washer - they'd reduced the size from 22gms to 16 gms for the same price.
I'm sure they're doing this with other own brands - look for things like shrinking toilet rolls (take a cm off the width and they save a fortune!!) and weights in standard measures (like half litre 500ml) being sold as 450ml or even 400ml.
What a con! It's the pound shop for me from now on... :-(
Yes - have been watching this happen over last year, but rate and flagrancy have really ramped up since Crimbo.
Number of fruit/veg in Market Value nets has decreased.
Price jumps have become ludicrous, not only due to sharp practice re-pricing to fit the latest Asda match campaign.[disillusioned posts elsewhere on mse].
But JB is right, see above, re £shop too - milk, eggs, sugar, coffee are no longer cheaper.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

popped in to my local tesco's this evening with my boys & there was a yellow label on the shelf for ben 10 alien force planetary powder sets reduced from £5.97 to £1.24 so i bought one each for my two boys & they came up as full price on my receipt
double the difference was £18.92 for the 2 so they paid me £6.98 to take them away lol
wish i'd bought the other 2 on the shelf now as i nearly did pick up 2 each for them but talked myself out of it

i noticed this with the lenow infusions (all of them come to think of it). the 1.5 lt non infusions are bogof and the infusions are 2 for £5 but states 1.3 or 1.2 lt yet there are still 1.5 lt. a lady went to buy a smaller one and i told her i just queried the item and they are the same price. so lenor are also getting smaller yet staying the same price, what a rip off. All these companies take us for a ride, times are hard enough for us all as it is yet still get big bonus' themselves no doubt.A happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j0

I bought some mens formal style workshoes that were advertised as £25 on the hanger. They scanned through at £8.99, much to my amazement, not sure if this is across all the stores though. There was no sign that they should have been £8.99 at all.0

Innocent orange juice 900ml. Price £1.99 or 2 for £3. Bought two and was charged full price of £3.98. DTD of £1.96 given back. They decided my barcode 5308862102506 didn't match that on the SEL which was why the discount hadn't come off. PLUS I had a £1 off coupon which I had used too!0

Found a big row of dresses in Tesco yesterday with a sgn above them that said all dresses £8 or less.
Took it to the till and scanned at £12.50.
Because of this thread I knew about the DTD and went to customer services - they asked me to show them where the dress I'd bought was and agreed they had been put in the wrong place.
Got a refund for the difference of £4.50 until I pointed out the DTD sign and was given another £4.50.
Was really chuffed I got the dress for £3.50 in the end:p - thanks to all the posters on here I would never have known to flag it unless I'd read all your posts.:T:rotfl:Survey Queen/Poundland Fanatic:rotfl:0 -
Cuddle Me Friends Teddy - SEL = £5 but scans at £6 so £2 back.Everybody dies, but not everyone truly lives0
