I've just done 5k on the treadmill (all running)
I just can't seem to push past the 5k mark, how did you guys do it?
I think it may be a psychological barrier to be honest.

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Linda I can't get past 3km on a treadmill. I don't know why but I find it so difficult running inside. I think for me it's psychological as well, or just lazy as I know I can just get off when I get tired whereas when I'm out and about I have to keep running otherwise I don't get home.

I'm going to try running along the canal bank I think, see how I do outside.
Pretty much all my running has been on a treadmill so far.

Oh Sammy, that's so sad :(

And Toto - hope DD is alright, doctor's receptionists - grr!

Linda - I think it's hard to do much distance indoors cos it's boring, nothing to look at! The first time I did 6 miles (previously having done about 4 at the most) I just went out and felt like running and running so I kept going, sometimes it works better when you're not trying too hard!
