I had abrilliant idea to go to Mr Ts last night to find some whoopsies but it was closed!! Not living in a town I didn't realise that 'open 24hrs' doesn't include Saturday or Sunday. I do now! So, as a result I have to go to our nearest shop, a very expensive Co-op today. Mr Ts is about 30 miles away. I will update my signature and declare my final amount later today.

Update for the week - spent £40.33 In Mr M's with £5 Sun voucher off making £35.33 but really could have spent a lot less, was adding stuff to the basket so could claim the £5 off............bit daft really, however got nice bit of Scotch silverside beef on special offer at £4.08 which we are having for dinner tonight with plenty left over for sandwiches for us both tomorrow.
Also got leg of lamb again on offer for £8.60 which has gone in the freezer.

Will wait until later in the week before declaring total for May as might need bits and pieces although planning to empty the freezer as much as possible.

Going away on hols on 4th June for 2 weeks so can you put me down for £100 for June please Mrs M?

    Hi all,

I got paid on Friday, so I have been to the shops and bought the following:

    Asda

    2 x Garlic Bread £1
    2 x Cookies £1.96
    3 x SuperNoodles £1
    Large eggs £1 (For six)
    3 x pizzas £5
    3 x Red Leicester £4
Bread 29p (Extra Special stuff, reduced)

Total spent = £14.25 The pizzas and garlic bread were instead of getting Dominos, so defintely worth the saving :rotfl:

    Marks and Spencer

    New potatos £1 (Reduced)
    Bread 50p (Reduced)
Plastic bag 5p (Grr, forgot to take one with me)

    Morrisons

    Muller Corner multipack (6) £1.47
    Milk £1.53
    Kievs £1.50 for two packets
    (Reduced)
    Choux buns 75p (Reduced)
    2 x food storage tubs 90p

    Total Spend = £6.15

So, my total spend since Friday is £21.95  which seems quite high to me as there are 4 weeks and 1 day until next payday! I have a freezer jammed full of meat though and will be trying to behave myself in terms of how much more meat I buy. I am getting a friend to take me to Morrisons next week (She has a car) so I can use my £5 off voucher, and am going to stock up on cat stuff - food and litter - so that I am stocked with that for the month.

Hopefully I will have a third month in a row within budget :D

Please can I join in - set £125 as a guesstimate for May - think I will lower it to £115 for June - to include toiletries, food and drink (including seeds for growing rocket etc).
It is daunting filling in the receipts bit, looking at all the stuff I buy and dont ever use.... must be more organised and shop carefully - aim is to get it down to £80 a month!

No problem - I spent about £70 yesterday in ASDA. There was £10 worth of vacc bags and plastic food containers and £10's worth of washing powder, shampoo, tootbrushes, toothpaste etc (stuff I don't buy every month)
SO about £50 on food and have got the following meals out of it (1portion per person - two of us)

18 portions of HM chilli & bolganese
    6 portions of HM curry
    2 portions of sausage casserole
4 portions of plain sausages to go with mash or jackets

still have 8 chicken breasts to make 12 portions of mexican chicken or marinaded chicken. Will do this tomorrow.

I bulk out the curries and chillis etc with grated carrots, peppers and porridge oats!!

Also some fruit and other day to day stuff in there as well.

can i join u for June? I'll set my budget at £100 but I am hoping to come well under that and get it down to about £80 by the time baby comes along.
