    Morning everyone

I'm quietly stunned I've only spent £200 so far this month. The bank online is too slow for me to check for sure but I think I've been quite good at updating this month.

I'm "QUIETLY STUNNED" I can't count more like :o. I mean to say just under £300 spent so far. Not quite the resounding success I thought considering I've one more shop. Still................

Just updating with yet another lot of milk bought!
I have approx £85 left of the budget with just one more shop to go this month. I've convinced the OH that we need to defrost the freezer so he's happy to use up the meat etc in there this coming week (and possibly next) to help out.
Have written a shopping list and it consists mainly of fruit and veg, cleaning/washing stuff and a few other bits and pieces - I'm going to try to stick to about £40 bring me in well under budget for the first time ever - I've scraped through before or failed but never really saved a lot less than my target.

Will update tomorrow after the big Mr T shop.

    Hi all
I'm not even at the end of my month yet (it's on Thursday) and I've failed already!! I'm currently sitting at £117.59 for my food spend this month and that doesn't include cat food, booze or cleaning stuff

Will need to go through my receipts with a fine toothcomb to see where I've overspent. Hope you are all having more luck than me

Don't be so hard on yourself - you've reduced your spend by about £80 and that's brilliant. Well done

    Afternoon all

Just want to update the spends. Can't remember if I have signed up for June GC so PLEASE PUT ME DOWN FOR £350 FOR JUNE MRS M. Have just done first shop and have spent a hefty £100.74 in MrA - did buy quite a lot of stockpiling items, 2 x 3kg pasta, beer, wine etc. Bought the 3 x fresh meat (chicken breasts, pork loin steaks, etc) for £10. Have now got into the habit of checking my receipt BEFORE I leave the store and the 3 for £10 offer had not deducted off my receipt - so off to Customer Services I go and duly got the money back and a gift card... yay! Also spent £4.74 on dishwasher tabs in Mr Sfld as they are on offer. So today's total is £105.48 - seems quite a big chunk of the budget already. Have to go as need to pack as we are going away for bh weekend.
Hope you have a good weekend everyone.

  • Ah! We all seem to be trying our very best on here. Doesn't make me feel to bad, when I say I think C.pixies going to be about £30 over.;) Will declare tuesday when I know total of online delivery. Spent £9-96 at Lidl to tide us over till then. I did have a go at guessimating Mr A shop, but it was a bit like the conveyer belt on "The Generation Game" . (remembering what we started of with).:rotfl: So in theroy in June it will be a bit like having a GC overdraft. If the overspend takes us as far into June as I hope, then we should be back on track.;). Hope you all enjoy the sun.:D
    Grocery challenge june £300/ £211-50.
    Grocery challenge july £300/£134-85.

Just updated my sig for the first time this week - and am fairly happy with it :)

I've had bulk deliveries from Tesco, Asda and Ocado in the last 10 days (codes and mutlibuys made it worthwhile, although what the neighbours must have been thinking I don't know, lol) - I've taken out the nappies and toiletries as they're a separate budget, and only counted the food that'll get used this month (put the rest against next months figure).

I'm now in a position where I shouldn't need to buy anything until Tuesday. If I succeed with that, it'll be my longest run of NSDs ever, so wish me luck.

So long as the hoard don't cause too much destruction over half term week, it's only pretty much milk and fruit that I need between now and the end of my month on 31st, so with £37.81 (or £4.20 a day) left in the kitty I hope I should be ok.

    :)
