Managed to get onto the bank, computer was as slow as a fortnight in jail yesterday:p
Anyway, would you believe NOTHING matches. My posts don't match my MSE total and neither my posts nor my MSE total matches the bank. I do, however, thing I used cash on some things so.
Either way, depending on which one of the three totals I choose I've either don Brilliantly, Good or Not Bad! I'll go with Not Bad! So far then, before I've gone today, I've spent £306. This includes £15 in Sainsbury stocking up on Daz soap powder. Under my stairs is a TREAT these days (loo roll, fruit shoots, soapowder, etc). I think I also have a year's worth of loo roll
The biggest thing that's helping me these past few weeks is I'm going without DH. usually we wait till he gets up (nightshift) and then we go in the afternoon but not this month.Grocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -
Good afternoon all,
popping in to update signature. We have just gone slightly over budget by about £8, not too bad.
Going to try and avoid the shops now until later in the week. I know we will have to buy milk before the end of the month.

Declaring at £67 here, as i won't need anything else this month. Am over budget but nowhere near as bad as last month's fiasco!August grocery challenge: £50
Spent so far: £37.40 :A0 -
Fingers crossed, I should be comfortably under budget for May! Did a small shop in town today for milk, salad bits and a big pack of pork loins for OH (which will be divided up and frozen), and spent just over £8.
Being more organised than usual (I have more time now my exams are behind me, for now at least ) I've also ordered my big shop from Mr A for delivery on Tuesday, which should be no more than £75. I've stocked up on a few bits (shouldn't need to buy pasta for a while), so hopefully, barring milk-runs, that's it for the month!
Will update full total after the shopping arrives.0 -
Popped in to update sig. Still under budget but have a few things to buy yet - new month starts on 28th so will declare on Wednesday.
I hve some extras to deal with next month, I have a freezer to defrost and refil so could I be put down for £175.00 For June please MrsM.0 -
Hi all:hello:
I've been reading over this and last months thread with intrest and I think I'd like to give it a go. So can I be put down for £350 for June please MRSM.
Thats for me, OH, DD and DS for all food (inc take aways), cleaning products and toiletries. Though I hope to get it down to about £250 with in a couple of months if possibleI've got my faults, but living in the past isn't one of them. There's no future in it.

You might have noticed that I have been a bit quiet recently...well I have come back to confess to having gone over my budget big time! As you will see from my signature I am a massive £65 over this month, practically wiping out all my underspends earlier in the year. I am afraid I did give in to temptation and go to Waitrose this week, but that's not the main cause. I just didn't plan in enough detail and ran out of stuff which meant extra shops in more expensive places during the week, plus I had extra unplanned visitors. I suppose I should have had some contingency!
Not sure where to go from here - whether I should stick to my origininal target in the hope that I will meet it this month or to cut myself some slack and increase the budget. I really don't want to do that as it seems like a failure somehow. However, DD1 is likely to be coming home weekends for extra meals as she has finished her course and is doing her dissertation.
I think it is best to be pragmatic and set the budget at a do-able level so Mrs M please put me down for £300 for June. I will declare my final result on Thursday. My new month will run from 28th May till 25th June (4 weeks).
Well done to all of you who did make it - I will try harder!

Morning everyone
Well, totally shocked the socks off myself yesterday at Asda. I spent a mere £36.49! Go figure. NEVER on a Saturday do I spend so little. I might just be conquering those childhood demons that say "fill the fridge, fill the fridge":o. Nah, truth is I still want to fill the fridge but I won't.
I've a stew in SC at the moment (beef and sausages from freezer, last week's carrots and onions). Oh and I found a vienetta in the darkest recesses of the freezer when searching for the sausages. YIPEE!
It's a HUGE football day here today to decide who wins the league. The Cup will be up in a helicopter deciding whether to go to the east end of Glasgow or to Dundee. Nail biting stuff

Morning all!
I am declaring at £165 from a budget of £200:j:j:j
This is a massive acheivement for me and I'm chuffed to bits!
It would have been about a tenner less but I stocked up on next weeks dog food, chews and treats, baking bits and pieces (my mother would fall over laughing if she read that!) and extra toiletries too for the week that I'm away (going to the US with work next Sat for 5 days) and have allowed a bit extra for milk top ups during the week coming.
My actual total spent is £162 ish but have rounded it up to cater for the milk monster that seems to live in our house!
I'm going to aim for £175 for June please Mrs Mc and see how that goes. I think I'm breaking the habit of buying things to make the cupboards and freezer look full rather than what we are actually going to use that week, we'll see how that continues...
Off out for nice Sunday lunch and then a trip to the IMAX cinema to watch the new Star Trek film - all from a different budget so a nice treat.
Had a productive day so far - dog walked in the mucky park, dog bathed, house hoovered, dusted, dishes done and kitchen tidied and washing on so am having a rest and lookig forward to my afternoon out.
Hope everyone has a nice bank holiday - here's to next month!:beer:0 -
Hi all!
I have so far spent less than I would have with 2 weeks to go but I've been really lucky as I stocked up with my freebie M&S vouchers and got a few treats paid for yesterday. I'm hoping to come in under budget on 6th June. I must look at my other budgets though - no point only being good with one of them!!!
