Please could I join for June. I have been absent for a long time but need to get back into. Have been good this week, and would like to pledge £160 for June.
Thank you!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Took DD down to her Dad’s yesterday, where she is staying for half term. Haven’t been to the shops at all over the weekend, so a couple of NSDs for me. And should be able to stay out of the shops all week, as well stocked after Friday’s big shop & with DD not here to scoff everything!
Have had a very pleasant afternoon reading cookbooks in advance of tomorrow’s planned batch cooking day. Should generate about 40 individual dinner portions to go with the 40ish still in the freezers, so we will be set for the month. Will also make some pates & quiche for my pack-ups.
The meat is now out of the freezer to defrost overnight & everything else I will need is in the store-cupboard of fridge. I love my store-cupboard! (sad I know:p). And I really enjoy my batch cooking days, though I may not be so keen if I had to cook for more than the two of us.0 -
Hi. I haven’t been part of the grocery challenge for a few months now, been busy with uni and exams but they are all over with now and its time that I got my grocery budget back under control. I have got a freezer since I was last part of the grocery challenge and have been doing the odd bit of batch cooking and am planning on doing a load more today, need to use the 1kg of mincemeat before it goes off, I was thinking of doing a spag bol, chilli con carne and burgers, I have also got lambs liver and kidneys but haven’t got a clue what I’m going to make with them
, if anyone has any ideas as to what I could make with them that would be great.
MrsM could you put me down for £160 for June Please.

I've been managing well this month but that is mostly due to running down the freezer so there has been a lot to use up. Can I please go in for £130 next month?
I'll need to get some more meat as have been back on my iron tablets and craving steak ...hhmmm steak doesn't always fit in my grocery budget but we did manage one on Friday

ETA I'm declaring all in today as we won't need anything and I'm off on hols to see my (adult!) kids tomorrow until Sun0 -
I've done well this month, though we've had a few meals out, but there's still a lot of food left. We go on hols on 6th June so I'm going to try and make this month's budget last until then. I just need to mealplan for the time til we're away now...Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

I have just ended the month , £172.25 for June:j:j
This is my best month ever! I have £27.75 left over and will put it into my pin money account. I have started to put my quidco money in there too. I feel really pleased, 4 adults for one month on £172.25 and we haven't been hungry. Next month will be set at £200 again but might be more difficult as we need to buy some meat.
